Excellent Family Amusement Park 10/19/2005

Since this park has been purchased by Cedar Fair, the park has spun 180*. This park features 10 great rollercoasters including Dominator, a B&M Floorless coaster, X-Flight, a Vekoma Flying Dutchman, and Steel Venom, the first single twisted spike impulse coaster. New for 2005 the park added Wildwater Kingdom water park in the place of the former SeaWorld Adventure Park. The addition includes a ProSlide Tornado. New for 2006 is Wildwater Kingdom Phase II with a wave pool, bowl slide, second lazy river, swim-up bar, as well as other tube and body slides. If you haven't visited yet, be sure to come soon! Currently the park is running it's annual Halloween Haunt event. more

Good times 10/14/2005

For less than $25 per person (even cheaper for those under 3 years of age or those vertically challenged individuals under 48 inches tall) you can have a great time at Geauga Lake Park and Wildwater Kingdom. This park has many different rides for many different age and adventure levels, roller coaster, water rides and much more! More than 50 rides and attractions. I've gone to Geauga Lake many times over the years and each year it just gets better. Whether you are a kid, a teen or an adult, you will have a good time. They also offer bigger discounts for season passes or for group rates. more

Used to be Better 9/29/2005

Since Cedar Fair Properties bought it back from Six Flags, the park has gone downhill. The low price attracts a very undesirable element, and one is treated all day to views of protruding stomachs and ratty clothing. Roller coasters are mediocre at best. The park does have a nice Oktoberfest, though I wish it were held for more than one weekend. I don't know if I'll get a season pass for next year or not. Maybe if the water park gets more than 2 slides. more

A fair with roller coasters 8/20/2005

Geauga Lake has never found a strong niche, switching owners to Six Flags, and now to it's once nearby competitor, Cedar Point. The park has mix of rides for all ages, including some fun wooden roller coasters. The park has never been up to par with Cedar Point, often feeling neglected and poorly cleaned. The water park is great for children. If you enjoy fair-style games, you'll love Geauga Lake... more

Geauga Lake Park 8/20/2005

Geauga Lake is a great place to spend a day with the family! Since it is so close to Cedar Point, you have to compare the two. Geauga Lake has smaller sized rides when compared to Cedar Point, as well as lots of other things to do instead of ride rides. This makes it good if someone in your family does not like roller coasters, or doesn’t like the big ones. Pretty good value for a days entertainment, but get discounted tickets at a super market for an even better value! Their Halloween festival is great too, with dress up “ghouls” roaming about the park. Great time! more

Water Slide Heaven - Now Taken Over By Cedar Point 8/19/2005

Cedar Point has taken over and expanded this local treasure of a park. If you want a wet a wild time this place is the place to go. They have waves, water slides, buckets of water and more. They also have roller coasters and other amusement type activities. The best part this year they reduced the price to a flat rate of $24.95 a person. Tremendous value. more

Great Amusement Park For Kids & Adults 8/17/2005

Geauga Lake Park is a place that is chalk full of fun for all ages. They have a brand new Water Kingdom that just opened in May 2005. Over 50 rides and 10 world class roller coasters offer plenty of excitement. They also have a kid zone with over 6 acres of rides and fun things to do for the smaller children. Wrap that up with live shows and food and this park has it all. more

Wild rides and water park 8/13/2005

Long a small-time local amusement park, Geauga lake was purchased by Six Flags in the late 1990s. They added many huge rides, roller coasters, and a water park. Recently sold and renamed Geauga Lake, the park has something for the thrill seekers, a great themed kids land for the little ones, and a huge new water park on the former Sea World side. more

Geauga Lake 8/3/2005

Perfect park for a weekend getaway or a two day stay. They have a great water park and lots of attractions for the little ones. Coasters for the older kids as well! My husband really enjoyed his two days there but my brother went on a different occassion and did not really care for the park. He does not care much for coasters that loop you around and felt that there was not much to do there. He is also not into water parks. The lines were very long for the new Tornado water ride. Looked really fun though! YOu can see some of the rides on geaugalake.com Food inside is a bit pricey but you can leave the park and come back in if you do not wish to eat inside. more

Great Park 7/8/2005

I used to go to Geauga Lake all the time as a kid - it was a blast. Even when I go occasionally now, it's still as much fun as it was then. They have all the rides that make up a good amusement park - ferris wheels & merry-go-rounds for the casual rider, huge coasters for the thrill-seeker, scrambler rides for the speed-craver, and everything in between. One of GL's best features is their waterpark. They have a snaking river you can float down on inner tubes, huge curly waterslides, a lagoon to swim around in, and lillypads and logs to balance on. It's a great way to cool down. I did dock a star for their unbelievable prices - $4 for watered-down pop, $8 for parking, and $40 for a ticket is a bit too much. They also have a "no cooler" policy to prevent people from bagging their meals to save some money. But if you don't mind digging in your wallet, it's great for a day and kids love it. more
