Kent State University in Kent has a lot to offer students. It has well respected programs in art and design as well as courses in a huge range of other subjects, MAC athletics, and a beautiful new fitness center. Many students commute, and parking is a problem on campus. Tuition is affordable and the city of Kent is a nice college town.

Lakewood Civic Auditorium is a good venue for a show. Music acts and comedians primarily perform here. Unfortunately, as it is attached to Lakewood high School, there is no bar. Parking is ample across the street or in other high school lots. The theater is clean and comfortable and is a pleasure to visit.

Tower City Amphitheater is a good outdoor concert venue. It is large and easy to get to, making it suitable for the tours and large festivals that take place there. The location on the river is very scenic, but the big amphitheater tent is not the greatest for acoustics. Parking at the Tower City lot is the best way to go.

Cedar Point is the best of the best as far as theme parks go. They have the most roller coasters and rides in the world, a beautiful location, and a beautiful resort in the Hotel Breakers. There is so much to do there it takes more than 1 day. They have wonderful shows and kids lands in addition to the giant rides, so they really do have something for everyone.

Kentucky Speedway is a great place to see a race. I have seen the NASCAR Busch Series and the IRL there, and the racing and crowds are great. Every Busch series race there has been sold out. There are plenty of restrooms and concessions and the views from the seats are great. Traffic can be a problem getting in and out, and some of the parking is very far away.

Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Brecksville is one of Cleveland’s most challenging courses, and certainly the most beautiful. It is quite a challenge to play with tons of sand and mainly tiny greens. Close trees and ravines add to the challenge. The course also had a driving range, concession stand, and party rooms available.

Boston Mills and Brandywine Ski Resorts are both surprisingly good ski resorts. Separated by a couple of miles, both resorts have hills of a full range of difficulties. Brandywine also has a tubing run. Both have ski and snowboard rentals and indoor concession stands. They get rather busy on weekends and whenever they host school groups.
