Cool Place 6/23/2006

Gameworks is a like a Chuck E. cheeses for adults. They have a big section just for car racing, they have air hockey, a make your own roller coaster, and a whole bunch of other games. They also have a place where you can sit down and enjoy one of their meals or just grab a drink. On Friday and Saturday nights, they only allow people 21 or older after 7pm. more

Fun! 6/17/2006

Gameworks is loads of fun. They have games for people of every age. Plus they have a whole section with car races and motorcycle games for guys. They also have the usual games that are always fun to play. They also have a create your own roller coaster which is what I love best. You can buy points on a card to play with and pay for every game according to how many points it takes or you can buy a time card for an hour or two or how ever many you like. the food here is also good but kind of expensive. more

Fun Place! 5/18/2006

This is a fun place for adults. They have all sorts of rides and games. You have to purchase a card to play one of the games. They also have a huge bar and dining area. The place is nice to just hang and relax with friends. I find the best ride here to be the "build your own roller coaster." You actually get to design your own roller coaster and ride it..pretty cool! more

It's Fun, Sorta 5/9/2006

Gameworks is in the fabricated community known as The Streets of Woodfield. Just across the street from the enormous Woodfield Mall this place is an adventure in and of itself just to get to the parking garage. It is generally so crowded with the restaurants, bars and movie theaters around that you need to have a kind of plow on the front of your car just to push people out of your way. I was there just this past weekend (May of 2006) for a friend's bachelor party. It started out fine as we sat in the bar and waited over an hour for a table in the restaurant. We had fine views of the Sox game, so it wasn't too bad. The music was at a reasonable level and the music was decent. We finally got a table and I ordered a Cobb salad without the bleu cheese, please. It came with bleu cheese and had to be sent back. Several friends had game cards from previous visits. They were told that the machine to check how much was still on the cards was down so they would either need to buy new cards or come back next week. So, were we to move back the wedding by a week? A $20 card will cost you around $23 after the activation fee and taxes. Most of the games were broken. The auto racing game that allows about six people to sit in Indy Car simulators had two cars down. The huge game where to sit in a chair and shoot hot air ballons and shoot up nearly three stories also had a chair broken. The basketball hoop game had a broken station. The Skee Ball area had several broken down machines. Then, at some point some idiot who looks a lot like the rapper LudaCris took a microphone and began SCREAMING into it and asking people to do insane things like jumping jacks to earn a free game card. The music turned into this thumping, annoying, indecipherable house music like we were at a rave. At some point a friend of mine and I tried to find a spot that was quiet and we both tried to figure out which orifice we could insert the microphone into the raving, not-funny moron with the mircophone. Dave and Busters is just a short ride south on 355. The food is better and I have never been there and found so many games not working. more

A lot of Fun! 5/7/2006

This place is a lot of fun. You come in and you can purchase game card with credit on it or time cards, depending on how long your planning on staying. Then yo can go in and start playing. They have a really cool ride where you can design your own roller coaster and then you sit in a moving coaster which has a screen on the inside of it. It is a lot of fun. They also have a lot of rides with cars races and motorcycles. They also have basket ball and hockey games. Other than that they have the usual games where you can win tickets. They also have a restaurant here and you can have parties here as well. more

GameWorks 5/3/2006

My wife and I stumbled across GameWorks while wandering the Woodfield Mall's outdoor mall. Wow, talk about a Showbiz Pizza for grown ups! The place was hopping but wasn't overly crowded. You can buy passes in dollar or time increments. I think it really depends on how crowded the place is-- for the Sunday afternoon when we were there, you'd get more money out of a time-based card. There's a ton of video games ranging from classic arcade and pinball to virtual reality and DDR, plus lots and lots of House of the Dead 1-4. There's also several bars and a restaurant, but we didn't eat/drink. Just a guess, but I bet the drinks aren't cheap. Lots of fun, just be aware of how much you're spending here. more

Games 2/20/2006

This is a really fun place. Its sort of like a Chuck e Cheese for adults. They have all these fun games, many of them interactive and computerized. Its a fun place to go and eat too. They have a nice little restaurant inside that serves up a pretty good pizza. My favorite thing to do here is go play ice hockey; their ice hockey table adds a few neat twists to the game that makes it fun to play. One thing to keep in mind is that after 9 p.m, you have to be over 21 to be inside this place and they do ID. more

Fun for everyone! 11/20/2005

We went here as a last resort, and I was amazed by how much fun we had! It is not based towards kids, so adults can go and have their fun too! Definitely a place I will return to either as a group of adults, or with the kids in tow! more

Great place to hang out with friends playing games 8/5/2005

Gameworks is a high tech video games center for young adults. It features two levels of interactive games, rides, and pool tables. There is also an open bar and snackshop in case you have the munchies. The rides are awesome, my favorite one is a two story hot air ballon battling ride where you control your character with a joy stick while your chair moves up and down based on where you are in the game. It is a battle between you and 3 other opponents. more

Video Games for Adults and Kids 7/17/2005

This is a great entertainment venue. It has the latest videogames and many simulation games like the Indy 500 racing game and a create your own roller coaster ride. It is a great place for kid and adult parties. You can rent out rooms for private functions like business parties. It is a little costly, but they have a deal that you can play any non-ticket game for two hours unlimited for $25. They also have a bar and restaurant. more
