Fountain Oaks

If you’re thinking about living here, DON’T! I made the mistake of moving into Fountain Oaks Apartments in July of 2010 while I'm in college because they had a great move in special and it was something I could afford. They had gorgeous pictures online, walking around I didn’t see any reason to not like this place, then I moved in… My first week was a nightmare, and I wanted to move out as soon as possible but I was stuck in my lease. There’s nothing but Ghetto Blacks, trashy Mexicans and other Foreigners that live here. I live on the 2nd floor and the stairs leading up to my apartment are always full of ghetto teenagers smoking and drinking, and when I say “excuse me guys” as nice as possible with a smile on my face, so I don’t get stabbed, I get cussed at and called “Dumb White Bitch!” \r \r I have graffiti all over my stairs, and my walls, and sidewalk. I’ve been chased up my stairs in the middle of the night after work by black guys that live in the complex; probably the ones that Cat-call to me during the day. I was talking to a coworker that just moved into the apartments and he mentioned that he and his neighbors that he has talked to all have Bed bugs. I felt so bad for them…Well, about 2 weeks after telling me about his Bed Bug infestation, I GOT BED BUGS! I had to throw out my couch, my bed, my clothes, EVERYTHING I’VE WORKED SO HARD TO GET! It’s all gone. Not to mention, speaking with my neighbors they all say that they have them too, yet they won’t tell management because they’re illegal and they don’t want to get deported! YUCK! \r \r Moving in, my stove did not work, my mailbox didn’t even open, the ceiling fans did not work, the fridge was totally dented and completely smashed up inside to where I couldn't even put my food on the shelves because everything would just fall and spill all over. I had holes in the walls that had bad patch jobs which I asked them to fix and they just said, “Oh those are already fixed, see?” I then started to notice that I had a small roach problem, which turned into an even bigger problem after having the complex spray my apartment. Maintenance is a joke, plain and simple. 3 times to come and fix it and my stove still doesn’t work. It is now June of 2011. My a/c went out in April, and when I went to the office to let them know to put in a maintenance ticket, the front office old lady that barely speaks English says, “Wow, that sucks…” Just a reminder, it’s now the end of June of 2011 and it’s still not fixed. It’s hotter than hell in my apartment. \r \r My poor Dad had to come out to fix my ceiling fans and repair the botched patch jobs, and even redo some cabinet shelving because everything has crappy work! I’m constantly awakened by loud Mexican music, or rap music in the middle of the night. This place is not only disgusting but it’s a hazard! If you value your Health and Safety, I would not recommend living here. more

I MOVED INTO FOUNTAIN OAKS ABOUT A YEAR AGO WORST APTS ESPECIALLY FOR MY FIRST ONE.. WHEN I MOVED IN THE APT WAS A MESS BURN MARKS IN THE BATHROOM, BURN MARKS AND SCUFF MARKS ON THE KITCHEN FLOOR THEY WOULDNT EVEN REPLACE IT, PERMANATE MARKER WRITTEN ON THE DOORS, HOLES PATCHED UP WITH CARDBOARD ON THE DOORS THEY WOULDNT EVEN REPLACE THEM... THEY JUST DONT CARE ABOUT THERE RESIDENTS PERIOD.. THE MANAGEMENT IS RIDICULOUS AND THEY DONT FOLLOW UP WITH ANYTHING... IVE HAD ROACHES IN MY APT SINCE I MOVED IN AND ITS DISGUSTING... TO MANY COPS AND PPL BREAKING INTO APTS THERE I WOULD JUST ADVISE PPL NOT TO MOVE THERE YEAH THERE CHEAP APTS BUT NOT WORTH IT WORST PLACE TO LIVE AND ITS GROSS AND DIRTY NEVER WILL I EVER LIVE IN THESE APTS AGAIN.. more

Ruining my life more

I've been here for over a year and we moved here because we moved from out of state so we weren't familiar with the area. There are constant fights and arguments in the parking lot among residents. Management doesn't follow through with threats to kick these people out. My daughter isn't allowed to play outside because the neighborhood kids destroy a the landscaping on a regular basis. The ""playground"" is just a large sand box. Kids urinate in the dryers and put dirt in the washing machines. I had insects until I bought Combat 12 month baits. Maybe I should deduct that from my rent...They were supposed to fix a leak in one of the bedrooms, but all they did was repaint the stain in the ceiling. Of course when it rained again, it leaked again. While the staff is friendly, it irritates me how one particular person talk to the residents. She speaks to hispanics in slang, she addresses me (I'm black) as girlfriend and whites as yes ma'm/ no ma'm. I guess that's her own hang up. Yeah, and the ""security gate"" is a joke. Anyone can just drive up and come in. We were never given codes so that only residents would be allowed in. People put rocks and trash on the gate tracks to keep them open. Insane!!! Maintenace sees it happening and says nothing. \r \r I will not be renewing my lease this year. Cons: rude neighbors, poor maintenance work, brown insects more

SERIOUSLY DONT MOVE HERE, IM GOING ONTO 2 YEARS HERE AND I AM MOVING OUT. INSECTS EVERYWHERE. MANAGEMENT IS HORRIBLE IF YOU WANT ANYTHING DONE TALK TO CLAUDIA (APT MANAGER). RENT IS A RIP OFF, THE SIGN OUTSIDE SAYS FROM 550 A MONTH AND THAT IS WRONG, I DO NOT KNOW 1 SINGLE PERSON PAYING THAT. I PAY OVER 700 A MONTH. VERY LOUD NEIGHBORS, ALL BLARING THEIR CLOWN MUSIC. IF YOU HAVE A CAR, TAKE THE ANTENNAE OFF EVERY NIGHT OR IT WILL DISAPPEAR. ALSO THESE AIR CONDITIONERS DONT WORK, THEY ARE FOR HOTELS, THE VENTS GO UP AND YOU CANT MOVE THEM WHAT SO EVER. YOU HAVE TO LEAVE BLINDS OPEN SOME AND ANGLE THEM TO EVEN FEEL THE AIR, BUT THEN YOU HAVE PERVERTS TRYING TO CHECK YOU OUT . MAINTENANCE IS A NIGHTMARE. DO NOT LET THEM IN YOUR APARTMENT WHEN YOU ARE NOT THERE, THEY WILL TAKE ANYTHING FROM YOU. TO GET STUFF ACTUALLY FIXED YOU HAVE TO SIT THERE AND TELL THEM HOW TO DO THEIR JOB. ""GATED COMMUNITY"" ISNT EVEN SECURE, YOU PULL UP AND THEY OPEN, NO CODE NOTHING. THERE USED TO BE A FITNESS ROOM, NOW ITS JUST THEIR OWN LITTLE AREA, USED TO HAVE A NICE VOLLEYBALL NET, YEAH RIGHT THAT'S GONE, AND DO NOT GO SWIMMING IN THAT LITTLE POOL THEY HAVE, I HAVE SEEN IT TURN NEON GREEN, YES, SERIOUSLY, THAT WAS LAST YEAR, NOW THEY JUST USE WAY TOO MUCH CHLORINE. OH AND ANOTHER THING IS BE PREPARED FOR IF SOMEONE TAKES YOUR ONE PARKING SPOT BECAUSE IT WILL HAPPEN, OFTEN, AND THE TOW TRUCK COMPANY THEY GO THROUGH IS HORRIBLE, TAKES 3 HOURS TO COME PULL A CAR OUT OF MY SPOT, EVEN IF YOU LAY ON THE HORN NO ONE CARES. AND KNOW SPANISH CUZ THAT'S ALL THEY TALK HERE, NO RESPECT.AND SERIOUSLY LIKE I SAID BEEN HERE TWO YEARS MOVING OUT AND ASK NUMEROUS TIMES FOR NEW DISHWASHER DO YA THINK I GOT IT. YEAH THE FIRST TIME THEY REPLACED IT WITH ONE THAT WAS WORSE THEN THE ONE I HAD BEFORE. Living in Fountain Oaks was like living in hell. I moved there from Tucson and the first day it had pests. THEY WOULDN'T LET ME OUT OF MY LEASE. I had a 2 month old baby that had to spend a year with pests by his crib in a HOT apartment. Management started hating me because I was in there every week asking for pest control. Then the fridge went out (which apparently happens to every apartment there). Then we got three flat tires in one month in there parking lot because they wouldn't hire a street sweeper. It has been a year since we left and we still have tons of pests everywhere we go, they are in our stuff and we will need to get rid of EVERYTHING we own before we can buy a house. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!!! Cons: EVERYTHING more

These apartments are HORRIBLE!!!! Save yourself the grief and go somewhere else. We moved here from Texas not knowing the city and we rented this apartment over the internet and talking to the manger on the phone. She said they were beautiful apartments that were newly remodeled and beautiful exterior. Blindingly we signed a one year contract and have been stuck in a nIghmare. These are extremely dirty and air conditioning is not throughout the apartment, only window units. This has been a nightmare. We are moving out in week and we could not be happier!!!
