I direct you to my google review of Foothill South Clinic which is very detailed. Basically, I am a MD who twice took my 2 yr old son here for a severe limp in the setting of an URI (1st time) and gastroenteritis (2nd time). The 1st time the doctor misdiagnosed it as ""occult fracture,"" only for him to get worse, go to Primary Children's THE NEXT DAY where a pediatrician quickly (correctly) diagnosed it as toxic synovitis (diapproving of the clinics assessment). Foothill never sent the results of his xray (though I read it myself) and called a month later to ""check up on him."" PCMC called the next day.\r

The 2nd visit was last night where gi infection for a week and sudden onset of limp (again). Dr said, ""toxic synovitis"" but recommended to go to PCMC if I was presistently concerned (I think MD's treat MD's kids worse b/c worried of being wrong, etc). Scheduled for ultrasound of hip next day. Called peds orthro and explained symptoms, etc. and was told that I should have gotten basic labs if concern was high enough to order ultrasound as well as basic rheumatology labs because recurrent toxic synovitis is a sign of possible juvenile arthritis (not good to miss). i called back the clinic, told them what the specialists wanted, only for the secretaries to hang up on me once, transfer me to an inactive voice mail twice, and then not pick up the phone. i had to drive there to get the basic labs ordered that nigh, and the next morning my wife returned with son for the basic labs and requested the rheum labs (per ortho request). the pediatrician wouldn't order the rheum panel. per my wife, it was clear he was letting his ego put my son's health at risk without admitting that he was possibly incorrect to not at least talk about these diagnoses/workup. i was shocked hearing this because i looked it up and the literature clearly supports this concern with recurrent toxic synovitis and the peds either did not know this (which he should per ortho) or was too inconsiderate of my sons wellbeing to admit maybe the specialist was right.\r

as a father/MD, i am saddened that this clinic failed repeatedly to care for my son in an appropriate fashion. parents, i advise you to look elsewhere, as further evidenced by the fact that my son had loss of bowel control and did not even get an abdominal exam last night (a common sense thing, with the doctor only focusing on the hip).
Pros: urgent care open after hrs
Cons: misdiagnosed/cared for my son twice
