Best

I went to this Fellini's for the first time this evening and will most definitely be returning. The food is...

Worst

While my meal was fine, my wife's was not hot so we sent it back. When it was returned it was still not hot...

Don't listen to the negative reviews 3/14/2011

The people that complained about the food, management etc must be out of their minds, IMO. I have been there probably more time than I can count and never had a bad experience. Manny and his manager Fabrizio are always kind, as well as the wait staff and the food is always delicious. The people who complained are probably never pleased and just looking for a freebie. I know these types because I deal with their kind on a daily basis! more

WORST MEAL EVER (but not as bad as the service) 3/21/2008

One of the worst meals I have ever had! The waiter walked away from our table in the middle of taking our order without saying why. When asked to describe the fish special he said...."it's grilled, that's the way it is" When in fact it was breaded, pan fried and covered in butter, spinach and capers (very sad, because it was quite possibly the only good thing on the menu). The veal involtini was sooo salty it was basically inedible. My lips are still shriveled up from the salt and I only tasted this dish. The lasagna al forno showed no signs of the promised bechamel sauce and tasted like something lean cuisine might offer and shared a similar salt content to the veal. The mussels were fishy, the lobster ravioli was bland with very briny crab meat on top. We sat staring at our plates for 20 minutes waiting for our waiter to ask how we were doing or fill our water glasses or even acknowledge that we were still sitting in the restaurant. No one ever approached us, or asked how we enjoyed our food. When our waiter finally came to collect our plates (which were still largely full,) we let him know exactly how we felt. He promised to speak to the manager, but did not apologize. The check eventually appeared (dropped off by another member of the waitstaff) there was no apology, no offer of a discount, no visit from the manager. We eat at other Fellini's locations several times a month so we were seriously put off by the way we were treated. Our waiter never approached our table again and no one spoke to us about our experience at all. Another staff member alerted our waiter that our check was ready, but he declined to approach our table and the hostess had to come retrieve it. We will not be returning and I hope to warn as many people as possible so they don't make the same mistake we did. I only regret that this place shares the same name as a fine, consistently wonderful establishment in Media, because I don't want it to tarnish their image. more

Excellent Food, Great Atmosphere! 4/27/2007

We have been going to Fellini's for about 6 years and it's without a doubt the best food around. And my parent's are off the boat, so I know good Italian food when I have it. I've been to Italy to visit family more than 10 times and have traveled around the country extensively and Fellini's food is without a doubt A+ in my book. Probably the best Italian place in the greater Philly area. The service can be a little sketchy, depending on when you go and who you get, but it continues to be our favorite because of the food and atmosphere. And don't confuse the one in Newtown Square with the other Fellini's in the area (Ardmore, Media, Downingtown....they don't stack up like the one in Newtwon Square). For a different atmosphere, but relatively identical menu, try Giuseppe's new restaurant in Edgemont (Trattoria Giuseppe). It's behind the Genuardi's in Edgmont, to the side of the AMC movie theater. Larger location, same menu, nicer atmosphere. Food still excellent! more

Good food, bad service 8/29/2005

I think it was just the waitress we had, but we were really disappointed with the service. They apparently give you complimentary bruschetta. We would have loved that. However, in our case, they gave everyone BUT us complimentary bruschetta. They had great specials, but we didn't know because our waitress never told us about them. We heard them from other wait staff telling other customers. However, their food - despite our grumblings and pre-determination to NOT like them - was quite good. Very authentic Italian food. The Bolognese sauce was as good as some restaurants I've eaten at IN BOLOGNA. So, although the service for us stank, I'd go back because the food was so good. more

You'd do better to go to a chain 8/21/2005

Fellini Cafe Trattoria is pretty disappointing. I stopped by with friends and had a pizza that was both soggy and had cheese I would not accept from a pizzaria. I decided to give them another chance and had some pasta that was passable, but honestly not as good as I could make easily as home. They also charge you to split a meal, which is off-putting. more
