I was a walk in At DJ Nail salon today. I have my own natural nails, that I have taken a long time to grow and keep looking healthy. I have been wearing the gel polish and came into the salon just to have my nails polished. I was greeted and asked what I would like to have done and then I took a seat in the front. In about 8 minutes a lady came to the front and asked again what I wanted and then pulled out some polishes and asked me to pick a color, she never introduced herself. The color selection was not good for the gel polish, everything seemed to be catering to the younger generation, very bright colors or colors with glitter, which I prefer neither. After not being able to select a color, I asked for a simple french manicure. I was taken to station #3, which is where I learned my nail tech's name, Kim Nguyen, she never asked if I had artificial nails or natural nails and started using the buffer for artificial nails to remove the polish I was wearing, when she noticed my nails were real. I was wearing a deep eggplant nail polish, which I did not like, therefore the reason for visiting the salon. To make a long story short, Kim proceeded to remove the nail polish I was wearing, which she wasn't very successful. She proceeded to do the french manicure, while speaking her language to an elderly woman in the shop, every time she walked by and even picked up the phone, dialed a number and had a conversation, sitting right in front of me while I had my nails under the light. I left he shop very dissatisfied, I felt like I paid her $25.00 for something a kid could have done better. Seven of my ten nails, still had the polish I came in with around the cuticle, she totally wrecked the shape of my nails, after I told her I wanted them to remain the same, she filed my nails and left them so ruff, I had to do them again once I got home. But best of all she filed two of my nails AFTER I was done, therefore removing the top coat and the white part of the french manicure she had just put on. Very unprofessional, needless to say, I will not be returning to DJ nails again and if your not a regular, which they seemed to pay a lot of attention to, you had better heed this warning and go some where else to get your nails done.
