The Chrysler Museum of Art has been committed to providing the Hampton Roads area with great quality art displays for a long time. They are best known for their glass collection. They are located in a beautiful building in downtown Norfolk with ample parking. They offer a children's summer camp program and have other interesting programs throughout the year and have a nice gift shop. A visit to this museum is a nice way to spend an afternoon and support the arts. more

Art Museum 8/20/2005

Great place to be and be seen on the weekends. During the summer, The Chrysler Museum has art viewings and socials. It is an excellent place to meet new people from the area. Most people attending the art shows are of a younger crowd. It is a great place to go for a few hours to socialize and then hit the bars in downtown Norfolk. Great musuem. more

Chrysler Museum Of Art 8/20/2005

Who says Norfolk does not have any culture? Travel downtown and you can visit the Chrysler Museum Of Art. The museum house several prestigious collections on painting sculpture and photography, just to name a few. Travel exhibits also stop there, so be sure to check their web site often to see what is new! Take the whole family. Teach the kids to appreciate the finer things in life. more

Rainy day fun, anyone 8/15/2005

OK, so when you go to the Chrysler Museum, you really can’t be expecting anything like The Metropolitan or National Museum of Art. It is Norfolk after all; however, the last time I visited, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of art they have. I especially loved the collection of Tiffany pieces that they had. If you’re looking to do something cultural in the area, this is definitely not the worst way I can think of to spend an afternoon! more

Wonderful museum of art 8/6/2005

As a fan of art, I believe this is one of the most wonderful places to visit in the Hampton Roads area. The art pieces at the museum are superb and they generally have wonderful traveling galleries and exhibits. My current favorite is the exhibit on railways and trains. It is great. They also have wine tastings and other cultural events and workshops. While I have not attended these, I have heard through friends that these are very enjoyable. With the varying types of art on display, most people will be able to appreciate the Chrysler. I believe it is excellent! more

A Beautiful Art Museum Full of Treasures 6/22/2005

The Chrysler Museum in Norfolk is definitely one of the city's most treasured buildings. Recently renovated, it houses works of art from paintings, to sculptures, ancient jewelry to glass. There are always travelling exhbitis that showcase some wonderful artists from all over the country. The museum is lovely and organized into sections for easy maneuvering and has quite an impressive collection of modern art. If you are ever in the Norfolk area, the Chrysler Museum is a must see for the entire family. more
