Ring the bells with a half shell 4/5/2006

The Chimes, one of the only pubs I know of where the house special is a dozen oysters served up raw. To compliment the daily special 12 oyster for less than $5.00 is a full range of local, national and international beers. Chimes is great any time of the week, but Tuesday then run the oyster special al day. more

Great Hangout Place 8/25/2005

The Chimes is more of a college town place where LSU students go and hang out and drink beer. However, if you like that atmosphere, you will LOVE chimes. The beer selection is unreal - there is any kind from around the world. There is usually a wait time to get seated no matter what time you go because it is always so packed...even for lunch. Great Bar/Restaurant 8/17/2005

A classic college bar/restaurant. The food is good, especially the lunch specials and the Sunday brunch. The extensive beer list, both bottled and on tap, is the best in Baton Rouge. The wait staff is good, and usually good looking. The "Around the World" program is a great way to sample all the beers, and in the end you get a free t-shirt and your name on the wall. Go for the food and the atmosphere, stay for the beer. more
