We Love Changs 3/7/2009

I have been dinine at Changs for over 12 years now starting at the Broadway location, and I still try to go once a week. Anyone I've ever taken is also in Love with the place. Pros: Cook Carlos, Wait staff Travis and Kristina Cons: No Change in Burien. more

Good Food at Times, Water Down Sauces, Don't Let Them Tell You Their Card Machine is DOWN! 6/1/2008

I have taken people here to eat on a few occasions. The sauces tend to be watered down and unattended. Asking for more ingredients seems to be an issue.\r \r At times, meat may not be well frozen in pans- take food off the bottom - I once became very ill after a meal here that was cooked quickly.\r \r Table service is questionable - it depends on who is working.\r \r Wraps are very thin and tasteless.\r \r But my most recent trip was the worst. \r \r Since an employee was talking on the phone, the person up front - I was now told the manager on duty that night, attempted to repeatedly run the charge for my meal through only to see the message ""Line Busy"" on the credit card Machine.\r \r I asked if it was because they only had one line and it was in use and he said ""yes"". After a few minutes of waiting, he finally pulled out the manual machine, made an imprint of my card, wrote down the CCV off the back and had me sign it. My $45.00 meal for three was billed at $191.00 in addition to two other merchant charges made using my card number and CCV (without my card).\r \r Calling the restaurant was even worse - constantly getting their fax machine and other times no answer. Tonight the manager could have cared less saying the would never charge me more than TWICE for the same meal - is this a common occurance? Interestingly enough, it can't be blamed on the machine as the one charge alone came through as exactly that - one exact charge to my account for the entire amount - not four consecutive authorizations and then two more charges later that night.\r \r All in all, my $45.00 meal turned into $320.00 worth of charges on my card. Now my bank is asking 120 days to investigate saying that the information used for that night and two other charges were confirmed by the CCV on my card and for the next four months, I am out $320.00.\r \r Needless to say, showing their lack of concern by tonight's General Manager, there will be no return trips to this location.\r \r Pros: Great food when all of it is available and replenished regularly. Cons: Service by servers and management lacking quite a bit. more

too American-zed, just OK, could be better, improve their sauces 2/13/2007

Not the best Mongolian BBQ. As someone else reviewed, you could come and go, and no one on their service staff would notice. Good selection of proteins, and vegetables, but here is my main complaint. They water down too much on all of the sauces, and so their is no authentic M-BBQ flavors that you can get from the best MBBQ restaurants. Just serve full strength sauces, and your rating will improve by 3X. Paper thin wrappers are tasteless and awful. Consider Chinese sesame seed buns/pouches. I would pay more if the sauces improve and the buns, too. If not , then I will go to Southcenter, or Tacoma for the best M-BBQ. Changs is just a cheap chain. The cooks on the grill are entertaining, though. more

Love the food 9/12/2005

For the people complaining about the value, you're better off eating here if you have a big appetite and/or just love coming here. Personally I have a big appetite--especially for my slim 159 lb. figure. :-) I go through about 4 wraps, 2 plates with 2 rice bowls, ice cream, and some water. So, for me, I simply enjoy Chang's--especially the new one on Rainier Ave because it's like 5 min. away. Now--with the others--I agree the service could definitely improve. Compared to the other Chang's on Broadway and Kent (I haven't been to Everett one), the Renton one could improve. Main improvements are parking and service. Big group reservations are a must for busy dinners. Pros: Tasty food, All-you-can-eat, Nice interior Cons: Service (Renton), Parking (Renton) more

Feels like a diner 2/21/2003

We've been to several mongolian grills, and thought this one would be more like the one in Capitol Hill on Broadway. While the food is good, the ambience is like a diner. The lights are pretty bright, and the tables are very close to each other. We felt like spectacles in the middle of a room. The price seemed a bit on the high side as well, but the food was still really good. The service was non-existent. When we arrived, they didn't seem to care. When we ate and left, they didn't seem to care. The parking lot was packed, and we got the LAST spot available. We expected it to be busy on the Friday night we were there, but not such a full lot. Will go back next time (only because the food is good) incognito so the bright lights aren't all over us! Pros: good choice of food Cons: parking lot too small, pricey for the value, feels like Denny's more
