Expecting the place that is so talked to be spectacular was quite a surprise when we arrived. With reservations made, we patiently waited at the bar with drinks close to an hour,...

Most overrated restaurant in Miami. So expensive, small portions, servers are constantly annoying you at the table and the food was so-so. Find a different place. more

I think Casa Tua is so romantic, is the perfect place to go for a date, and also the food is delicious, all the candles super, super romantic, if I could I would be there every day.... Love it... more

this place is way over rated. Dont see what all the fuss is about more

Dont EVER book an event here!!!! 9/13/2011

Management is clueless and does not communicate amongst one another. It is super expensive, small portions and ridiculous wine prices. Attitudes are terrible and they dont care if they ruin a party/event of yours, no matter how important. Complete waste of time and effort. Many better choices in Miami than Casa Tua!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

I have been eating at Casa Tua for years and always thoroughly enjoyed my visits, however, this new management has driven this landmark into the ground. People come to visit Casa Tua for the experience, as the food has always been mediocre, but this last experience was one I would like to forget. The service was awful, with almost 45 minutes between visits from waiters, the wine list was incomplete and the sommelier was blatantly disregarding our inquiries, visiting the table once to up sell us on bottles and then to just disappear for the evening. Rain, which happens often in Miami, became an issue with the umbrella leaking, leaving most of the diners to soak. When we asked for some assistance, we were told that there were other people to attend to first and that we'd have to wait. Again, no one ever came back to check in or even offer an apology and upon completion of the soaking wet, lackluster, wine-less meal, management simply disregarded our complaints and left us in the lobby, soaking wet, half hungry, and completely disgusted by the treatment and experience overall. Very disappointing and the end of a legacy. more

Excellent meal and setting. As well 'hidden' as it is it is a testament to the quality of the experience. Was here for the first time last night but not the last time for sure. more

Stupid expensive / hit or miss food 5/21/2010

A hip spot taking itself a bit too seriously. Had a big party of twenty of us. The fixed menu was limited and of the two courses one was a disappointment. For the cost, should have been more variety, quality and coordination with wait staff. Pros: Outdoor seating Cons: Cost & pertention more

I really enjoyed my evening at Casa Tua. We were lucky enough to dine outside in the beautiful garden. The wine list is amazing and the gnocchi just melted in your mouth. Service was impeccable and the food was just delicious. If you are lucky enough to get a reservation ENJOY b/c it is an all around fabulous experience. more

Best Restaurant 9/29/2009

I have traveled all over the world and by far Casa Tua is the best restaurant and hotel!! We walked in were greeted by this Italian man who made us feel as special as ever. Then, from the server to the sommelier? TOP NOTCH SERVICE!! After our amazing meal (the burrata, zuchinni flower, beef terderloin and veal) we were taken for a tour of the 5 suite hotel. Let?s just say that I traveled again the following month and booked my room reservation at Casa Tua? Pros: Service, Food, Wine and Decor more

Perhaps because of high expectations I was disappointed. The restaurant itself has a very romantic atmosphere and the staff was very attentive while not being overbearing or constantly behind one's shoulder. However, it is in the food where the place sadly falls down. The plates where on the minimalist side of portions and the pasta dish was certainly unmemorable. The veal entre was tenderloin that most certainly could have been more tender. more

Eating in a Sweat Room 8/3/2009

Saturday August 1, 2009; the main dining room is 85 degrees. The GM states that Casa Tua are trying to recreate the entire European Experience, instead of admitting that the Air Condition is simply too weak. The assistant manager later does not want to call us a taxi to go home, but asks us to walk to the corner and wait. Upon leaving, the doorhandle fell of the front door by the way... Pros: You don't need to salt your food Cons: Your Sweat will drip into the food more

I went at Casa Tua last August for my anniversary dinner . My husband and I were watching Giada's Weekend Getaways on the Food Network and when she was in South Beach this was one of the places she visited. First the restaurant is laid out like a house and it is so beautifully decorated - you get a warm and cozy welcoming feeling from the minute you enter. The service was amazing - really great attention was paid to each and every detail. The Food was also amazing - beautiful presentation and amazing combination of flavors. I highly suggest this restaurant - and I can't wait to go back the next time I go to South Beach! more

SUCCESS HAS GONE TO THEIR HEADS! DINER BEWARE! 3/4/2007

We had dinner on a Friday night, and not only had terrible service...waiters serving us wrong size portion and then taking away...spilling champagne on menus, asking us twice for both drink and dinner orders...but the sommelier was arrogant about our wine choices and kept pressuring us to order most expensive wines. Pros: Romantic Setting, Ambience Cons: Valet parking $20-, Service more

Beautiful and Romantic! 11/10/2006

I went to Casa Tua on my latest visit to South Beach and I will for sure go back! You must make reservations. The staff was a little rude but the food was awesome! I ordered the NY Steak and it was delicious! The wine list is a little overpriced. Not a place to go if you're on a budget, everything is served a la carte. Beautiful and romantic setting, especially on the patio! more

Sit outside and take it all in! 7/25/2006

I am a true New Yorker, so I did not expect much from this place, (no offense Miami). However, I was very pleasantly surprised. Reservations they could work on easing up a little. It was like pulling teeth to get this reservation. We were seated outside and told at 10:00 another reservation was coming and we would have to move when they got there. Who does that? I don't want a time limit on my dining experience when I am spending that much money. However, the food was amazing! From the appetizers to the decadent risotto my mouth was very happy. The lamb chops were a bit fatty, I had to send them back. But overall everyone at my table really enjoyed their meal. I will return next time I visit Miami!!!! Ask to sit outside it is really an intimate setting and really relaxing while you are enjoying this meal. Pros: outdoor eating, great food Cons: reservationist, overbooking more
