This has got to be the worst retailer in history. If you paid for a dress, and did not receive your item so you attempted to contact the owner Janet Marano only to get the all too well known "" Janet run- around"", please contact the Conshohoken Police @ 610-828-4033!! Just maybe we customers can get some type of resolution. more

I called to get the price of 6 bridesmaid dresses and the woman (who I assume is the owner which all the other reviews mentioned) treated me like a 15 year old child on the telephone. The entire time I felt as though I was bothering her. She told me she would call back within 2 hours with the prices... it's been 4 weeks and still no phone call. I almost hope she calls back just so I can turn her down and let her know how rude she is. Her loss of 6 bridesmaid dresses in this poor economy! Cons: Rude phone service more

A great bridal shop, with great service and dresses. After visiting several shops, I walked into Brides Boutique and my search was over. The owner, Janet was very experiences and treated me like someone important. I am surprised by the negative reviews on this shop. Trust me, the negative experiences do not have to be yours. I purchased my wedding gown and all accessories, 9 bridesmaids and two mothers gowns, everything arrived exactly as I had ordered, the alterations were the best ever. If you want great service and a great selection, visit Brides Boutique in Conshohocken. My wedding was two weeks ago and I would go back to Brides Boutique in a minute. I have already sent all of my friends and family members there. Pros: A great experience more

very unprofessional. Anytime you call her it is as if you are bothering her. Bridal stores are supposed to make weddings a happy occassion for the bride and this was far from it. Buyer beware. there are so many other stores to go to ... especially that have better reviews. I usually dont reveiw places however... I could not sit back and just not warn anyone about this store. Trust me when I say stay away. stay far away. This is a once in a life time occassion keep it happy. I want to warn all consumers about this owner. She lies to her clients a dress that should have only taken 3 months to get took 7 months. I only called her three times and all those times it was like I was disturbing her. My dress was not allowed to be picked up and paid for until an appointment was made. If it was a fitting I could understand making an appointment but it wasn't. I highly don't recommend this store. I found out that there are many negative reviews too late. I also contacted the better buisness bureau and hopefully they can help with all the problems with this store. This store is a complete nightmare - Unprofessional, rude, sarcastic, unreliable owner. Alterations were a complete joke - workmanship poor, dresses came in two weeks prior to wedding despite the fact that they had been ordered 8 1/2 months prior to event. When they did come in they were not the dresses that had been ordered - several of the details of the original dresses were left out - they fit poorly though they had been ""custom"" made and the girls were charged outrageous amounts of money to alter them. Phone calls went unanswered. When the girls would ask questions, the owner, Janet would belittle the girls and be sarcastic as though they had no right to ask a question. My daughters' alterations cost $400.00 - a fact that the owner shared with my daughter at the final fitting, a week before the wedding. When my daughter (who was paying for her own dress was visibly upset - Janet belittled her and said ""well what did you expect"" - I can assure you, she did not expect this amount, as a matter of fact, she was not aware that the alterations were not included in the final price - a fact that Janet did not seem to think was relevant and that my daughter should have assumed they were not - ""that's always the way it's done"" was her response. Well excuse us for not knowing - I guess my daughter orders wedding dresses everyday? It seems to me that the owner should have made known this fact - it would have made a difference in the decision that my daughter had made - but then Janet was making the sale so what did she care! A complete disgrace and a fiasco for everyone involved! more

I am not sure where to begin so I will start with the customer service. The owner is so rude. She always made us feel like we were inconveniencing HER by being there. And she treated the mother of the bride like she had no business being there at all. The bride's dress and many of the bridesmaids' dresses weren't ready until the afternoon before the wedding. And this brings me to the alterations. The bridal party debated whether or not to use Bride's Boutique for alterations or just have everyone alter it on their own. Our decision to use Bride's Boutique for alterations was made after Janet told us it would only be $60 ($30 for a bustle and $30 for the hem). Some bridesmaids wound up paying 90% of the cost of the dress JUST for the alterations!!!! It's like buying a whole other dress for what the alterations were! When asked about it, Janet said we ""misunderstood"" her on the alterations cost. I don't know how 4 people all ""misunderstood"" the same thing. We didn't have a leg to stand on with only a few hours left until the wedding so everyone just paid the outrageous amount to get the dresses. So to sum up the experience, the bride felt so bad about the mess that she was in tears a few hours before what should have been one of the happiest days of her life. We have Bride's Boutique to thank for tainting what should have been a wonderful experience. PLEASE, if you want to have a good experience? PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE. This place is the worst boutique for wedding and bridesmaid dresses. Our experience has been a complete nightmare. All they do is lie to you there. My sister is getting married tomorrow and as of today, the day before the wedding, we still do not have her dress in hand. We ordered all the dresses over six months ago. And they only finished the bridesmaid dresses a couple days ago. What's more, the amount they charged for alterations was almost the same price as the dress. We were originally told alterations would be no more than $60 a dress and some girls ended up paying $160 for alternations on a $180 dress. My sister paid close to $400 for a hem and bustle on her wedding dress. Definitely not the place to deal with when it comes to bridal stuff because it adds much uneeded stress. Completely unethical and the customer service isn't that great either. more

this little cute shop, i walked in not knowing anything about bridal gowns.... and walked out with my dream dress! the lady was just so helpful, she really showed me how beautiful of a bride i am. i have now been married for 6 months and i was looking at my wedding pictures and thought about how wonderful i and my girls looked! the whole experience was just perfect, stress-free! the owner of the shop just took care of everything, out of town bridesmaids, alterations for everybody.... it was just so very convenient, i would recommend to anybody i know, two of my friends are engaged and purchased there, i can't wait to go back to visit! what a nice place to make you dream come true! I had a wonderful experience at Bride's Boutique!!!! The gowns I purchased for myself and my bridesmaid were georgous,high quality and altered to perfection. The owner made me feel like a pampered bride. I would highly recommend this cute boutique in the heart of Conshohocken. more

I was trying on dresses in this store and was told that they ""ranged from $1600 to $2200"" which was fine but very shady that there were no prices attached to the gowns. As soon as I said I loved one the woman said ""Oh that was in $2200"". When I told someone about the dress and shop I was told to read ""4 very scary bad reviews"" on Citysearch, I'm so happy I did. I looked at the designer's website to see which other stores carried this dress (and Bride's Boutique wasn't even a store the designer worked with) and when I called one of the other stores I was told that they could order me that dress for $1700. So basically she jacked up the price by $500 as soon as I expressed interest in it. Needless to say I did not go through Bride's Boutique, thanks for the warnings. more

I wish I had seen these reviews or spoken to other brides before I went to this store. I ordered my gown in December 2005 for an October 2006 wedding. I did not get my gown until September 2006. Janet, the owner, was extremely rude and irritated when I called her several times in August asking for a definite date of when I could expect my gown. She never returned phone calls -- I would have to call her twice before she would return one call. In late August I was obviously concerned (especially after I found the other reviews on this site). I told her I was nervous and did not want any problems with my gown. She reponded by saying ""if you are looking for problems - there will be problems"". One of her excuses for not returning a call was that she was waiting for information from the designer. I called the designer in NYC and he said he did not work with Bride's Boutique because they don't get along. He said she must have ordered my gown through another store. Also, when I was getting a bad feeling and thought that the gown might not arrive, I called another bridal store. They told me they could get my gown in 4 weeks if it was an emergency. They indicated that my gown usually arrives within 4 months of ordering so they were very concerned that I did not have my gown if I ordered it in December 05. Also, when they gave me a price for the rush order -- it was $500 less than what I paid for it at Brides Boutique. In the end my gown did come in - I paid for it and I'm getting my alterations at Suky now. more

I will certainly be letting EVERYONE that I know to stay AWAY from this establishment. This lady had NO idea what Customer Service is. If only we had read these reviews before ordering, we would have never EVER given her business. #1- she is overpriced. #2- SHe is RUDE. God for bid you go in to pick up your bridesmaids dress without and APPOINTMENT- she will bite your head off. #3- SHE ORDERED THE WRONG DRESSES!!! We placed the order months away from the wedding, came in wrong SIZES AND COLOR! It is now a WEEK before the wedding, they are STILL not in. Leaving NO time for out of town maids to pick it up AND get it altered. When we suggested she ship them to us- she says sure. T hen tells us shipping will be ON US?! and that she has already gone ""above and beyond and been MORE then generous by paying for 2 dresses already?!"" she made the mistake herself, therefore not doing US any favors. and secondly she is not giving us the dresses- we are PAYING for them. STAY AWAY!!!!! I have not heard one good thing about this ""BOUTIQUE""- she will be out of business shortly. Brides certainly do NOT need this extra stress. This person was so glad for me to place the order. However, months went by and I never heard anything. Placing phone calls always went unanswered. I don't think she ever ordered the dress. I am now in the process of requesting a refund. I am also filing a complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency. This woman is rude and she should not be in business. more

Terrible! My friends wedding is June 24th. The bridesmaids dresses came in less than a month before the wedding and they were the WRONG COLOR!! They deny any responsibility. The dresses were ordered in NOVEMBER OF 05!!!! How long does it take to make a dress? \r Unless you want to take a chance on your colors, I would not recommend this place! more

awful awful is all i can say. my wedding is May 7th '06 and there was no dress ever ordered. my mom called the dress company directly (henry roth) and henry himself called us, got our money back and from another MUCH nicer dress place is having it made for me. I ordered and paid $500 for a dress in August, it should have been here by now. as well as my brides maids dresses!! when my mom asked where they were the rude owner said to her, ""put things in prospective, its only a dress!!"" HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE no one EVER EVER EVER go there please!!!.... Cons: HORRIBLE more

my sister purchased her wedding dress & 5 bride's maids dresses from this boutique. the service was horrible. Dresses weren't ready when promised, one of alterations was done incorrectly (and was very expensive). The bride's dress had a burn mark on it when we picked it up. We dealt with the owner, she was rude, never even apologized for any of the mishaps, let alone compensated us for the hassles. Our only consolation is we've been able to stear friends getting married away from this store. Pros: nice dresses Cons: owner rude, bad alterations, horrible service more
