Very hot!!! 7/26/2006

The only drawback to this place is it's in Gilroy, which is really hot! Otherwise it is a fun place. They have gorgeous gardens, and rides for younger kids. Well, the rides aren't scary, but pretty much anyone can go on them. The food is okay -- no brand names here, but also not exciting. I usually end up getting a quesadilla at the Mexican place. They also have a gorgeous botanical gardens. A fun place for all ages. more

A day of family fun. 8/28/2005

Bonfante Gardens Theme Park is a cute little amusement park. There are many rides and attractions such as a water play area, small roller coaster, various rides, and beautiful gardens. They have a variety of places to eat and parking is no problem. It's a good place to have a day of family fun. Beware, the cost can be a little pricey. more

This is an amusement park, but a very unusual kind of amusement park. Its a combination of nature and fun on the rides. The rides arent hard core, no roller coasters or drop zones. But they are fun, kid and family friendly rides. Teens can have a lot of fun on them too, but I do recomment to bring a friend. Besides the rides there is lots of nature in the park. There are weirdly twisted trees, and interesting shrubs, cool flowers. Take the little tour on the train, it will tell you all about them. O yeah, by the way, the rides are all in some kind of fruit or vegetable theme. Its a good time, but I wouldnt recommend driving all the way over there if you are not really from the area, its not really worth it. more

Bonfante Gardens is one of those attractions that combine a "low tech" city park with a hint of amusement park flair. The have lots of gardens with weird shaped trees as well as a few water rides (paddle boats, floats). They have a couple roller coasters (no upside down types) and a large greenhouse with butterflies and moths with tropical foliage. The nice thing they put in this year was the addition of a water attraction which they bill as Splash Garden. A welcome addition during the blazing summers in Gilroy. Definitely a low key "amusement park", best suited to younger families or those who just want to stroll and take in leisurely rides. One more cool thing: they have an arrangement with Great America where if you buy their VIP season pass, it includes admission (all season) to Bonfante. more

Whose idea was it to make a Garlic ride? A swinging banana? A chained Mushroom? And all of it is inside lots and lots of unusual plants and trees? well, whoever it was was pretty smart. Its a great park for kids. Parents are happy since they are looking at that interesting knoted tree, and the kids get to go on rides. Go on the little tram ride around the park, they will show you and tell you about all the things they have growing in the park. This is not a park for thrillseekers! I think that you can only go here once, this isnt really a park thats full of crazy rides. They have days at the end of the season where you can get free tickets if you know how to. more
