I rented a home through Block in the past 4 years. Use Joshua and Sharon as contact. First time they did a good job finding tenant of the qualificaiton promised. After that, they are quick to shuff someone in there though they do not meet qualification. Pros: Have a large client base, easy to find tenant through them Cons: Not responsive to calls. Quick to shift blame. Slow to pay more

Never have I encountered such a lack of professionalism. I was treated with incredible disrespect at both the beginning and end of the lease. more

My family rented a home in Cary through Block & Associates 2 years ago and was overall satisfied. I loved the home we rented, and had a great relationship with my agent and management. The only thing that was requested in the at the end of the lease was to have the carpets professionally cleaned, Property Management provided me with their preferred vendor, who did a GREAT job and also gave me a discount because of their relationship with Block. The move out process was smooth. I have recommended Block to several co workers. (and still use this carpet vendor, he was great!!) I would recommend them to anyone. more

I entrusted Block & Associates with managing my rental home while my wife and I were overseas for work. I had mostly positive dealings throughout the 5 year period. The fees were very reasonable and they were always quick to find a new renter when the time came. Their marketing fee was slightly higher than their competitors but the customer service made up the difference. The staff was very professional and took care of any issues that arose promptly. They were very receptive to respond to any questions or concerns that I had along the way. If there was ever a problem with any of my tenants I never had to worry. Block & Associates handled everything for me. I would recommend Block & Associates to anyone looking for an honest, professional, and friendly management company to look after their rental home. The house we rented from them was horrible. They said they painted, but just like the other reviewer they did not their was patches of different colored touch up paint on the walls through out the whole house. The whole house was dirty from top to bottom. The closets were never painted. It looked like someone marked all over the walls. Yeah you would think that the owners would care about their property enough to fix it up. The worst is when I was cleaning up their mess I noticed a roach. When we got an exterminator he told us that was the least of our worries the house has termites. So our new furniture could be ruin. Do not rent from these people. They are very unprofessional, rude, and you can never get a hold of them. Unless you want the house from money pit Stay away. Cons: The Money Pit! more

I've worked with Block and Associates for 10years and have been in every type of place that you could have. from the 400,000 home to the 90,000 rental. I think people forget that they are RENTING their living arrangements and many many things are spelled out in the contract that you sign. Pros: best in town Cons: still waiting to find one more

We lived in a Block and Assoc rental for a year now. The condition of the house upon move in was terrible. The paint had been retouched and the colors didn't match properly, so there were patches of paint all over the house. Also, the carpet was badly stained. Several things happened during our stay where we needed service. It would take 3, 4, 5 calls and several weeks/months for the issue to be fixed. Now we are trying to move out. We are trying to contact Emily or Candace in their Property Management team to figure out what we need to do, how to handle the carpet cleaning, etc, and they are completely unresponsive. We are trying to avoid being screwed out of our deposit, because they use ""Dave's Carpet Cleaning""...who is quite a bit more expensive than everybody else we call and who badmouths every other business. Our total experience with Block and Associates was terrible from beginning to end, but we needed a place to live ASAP, so we ended up paying for desperation. Try to avoid Block and Associates. more

I rented with Block and Associates and everything was fine until my husband and I bought a house and had to move out early. I posted ad's for the place to rent, showed the condo, and found three potential renters before they approved one. Finally, they approve one and then they require a week for the place to be vacant in between renters in which they make me pay for the rent, when the place was ready to move into (according to their property manager) and the new renters were willing to move the day after we moved out. Plus, they then tell me they are keeping our entire deposit ($900) for the fee to re-rent the place after they had told me they would provide a discount since I did all the work. I say if you rent from them and you have to move out early- they will screw you. Up to that point I had no complaints, they fixed things quickly that needed it and tried to take care of things quickly... they just didn't hold up their end of the bargain when it came down to the money. Their website is updated continuously (nchomerentals.com) and is very informative... school zoning, community, pictures, availablility, etc. The prices are somewhat negotiable as they are acting as the agent for the homeowners.\r \r No issues renting from them (they were actually able to seal the deal from start to finish in a single day!!) and it was very easy ending the contract as well once we moved. more

Block and Assoc. rented my home for me while I was in Ireland, and charged me $126.00 an month to deposit my mortgage into my acct. Well, it's now July 26 my rent still has not been paid for July, and Block and ASSoc. are saying it's my banks fault because they deposited the monies. They cannot show me a deposit receipt or a copy showing that the money they deposited cleared their acct. They just continue to point fingers instead of making phone calls to find out where their so called deposit went. I would not recommend Block and ASSoc. relocation services to ANYONE! I'm pulling my hair out trying to resolve this issue from 3500 miles away, even though I pay Block and ASSoc. to collect payment and deposit funds.How hard can that be .By the way,our tenants account was deducted almost 30 days ago.Where is the money? STAY AWAY !!!!!!Find any other company to hire. Cons: NO SERVICE, They only want your contract....no return calls etc. more
