My insurance doesn't cover chiropractic care, so when I started having tingling and numbness in my right hand and a feeling of a pinched nerve in my neck, I had no idea where to turn. In the summer of 2007 my shoe got caught in the front door and I fell down on my knees. The following days my back and leg had a pain I had never felt before and I could not sit in a chair and I could not lay down comfortably. I was miserable and in so much pain. I went to the emergency room and they couldn't do anything for me. A co-worker at work told me to go see Dr. Bawcom and see if he could help so I called the office and spoke to him Dr. Bawcom and he had me come to the office that afternoon to talk to him. He listened to what I had to say and he gave me some exercises that I could do to help and he started treatment on me that very day. By November 2007 I was back to normal and felt good as new so he released me and I didn't need any more treatments. I have not had any issues with my back until recently and I am currently back with Dr. Bawcom receiving treatments and I started to feel better the day of my first treatment. Dr. Bawcom is AWESOME!! He is very professional and listens to what you have to say. He is great at what he does and if you every have any issues PLEASE call Dr. Bawcom first you will be so glad you did!! Dr. Mark Bawcom is a professional. He cares for his patients and has a sense of well-being for each of them. He takes time to sit-down with you and to know your medical history to sense what could be the root-cause of the problem. He treats patients not only with his hands but with his whole heart. I always have a wonderful experience when I attend my bi-weekly Chiropractic appointments. I have recently incorporated some acupunture to help with my allegery problems that I have had my entire life. Dr. Bawcom and his staff have been amazing from the get-go. I called on a Friday around 1:30, with some extreme discomfort. Turned out they had just closed for the week, but Dr. Bawcom offered to see me anyway so I wouldn't have to go all weekend in pain. That kind of consideration and dedication to helping patients has continued through all my visits. Dr. Bawcom takes time to explain what's going on with your body, and what you and he can both do to correct the problem. I started going to the office recently and have been impressed with every aspect of this office. Everything from the staff to the adjustments. I didn't expect the treatment that I received. Dr. Bawcom listened to my concerns and spent time explaining things to me on a level I could understand. I didn't feel like I was being rushed and just another patient but an individual. He and his staff had exceeded my expectations on all levels. He went above and beyond to explain things, review steps to care for my lower back outside the office and was willing to offer ideas and tools for proper posture. To be able to work, I had to be able to stop hurting in my many places! Physicans prescriptions had not done it for me. A friend needed a driver to get to his chiropractor. I took him. I'm still going to Dr. Bawcom every time I need an adjustment,an alignment for a hip, acupunture, electromagnectic stimulation for the neuropathy in my fingers and toes from chemotherapy, or suggestions for physical therapy that I can do at home to improve my rotator cuff problem, or whatever the pain may be. He knows; that's what works for me. He made it possible for me to continue my career until retirement, he made life more comfortable for my husband during a nine-year illness with bone cancer, and he has kept my skeleton functional through ovarian cancer, copd, L4-L5 weaknesses in osteoporosis, and a right-hip misalignment situation. His patient kindness has welcomed me when I need help and has encouraged me to live life, not just exist with a lot of pain. There are months when I am well enough not to be in his office. Then I do some movement without realizing the consequences, and I need more help. Dr. Bawcom always gives me an understanding smile and a realistic perspective on accepting the changes life brings. He has been my doctor for probably thirty years. I've always had to have a chiropractor; I have curvature of the spine. I wonder if I had met Dr. Bawcom earlier in my life if he could have improved my chances sooner! He is more than just a doctor; I have many of them. He is my friend. When I moved here from a big metro area that was filled with 'chiropractor mills' that want to establish long term treatment plans and sell you the moon, I was skeptical about finding a chiropractor. I got Dr Bawcom?s name from a friend of a friend and I was pleasantly surprised to get an appointment the very same day I called! I was even more surprised during the appoint in which he sat and talked to me for more than thirty minutes to discuss my concerns and previous treatment plus there were no contracts, x-rays, supplements, and no sales pitch! Dr Bawcom takes the time to discuss my issues to get to the root of the problem, and then clearly explains possible causes and options in terms of treatment. In addition to adjustments, he also provides his patients with tools to help them improve their conditions outside of his office. For example, he not only provided me with printouts of specific exercises that would help me but he took the time to show me how to do them properly. I think what makes his practice different from the rest is that he is very knowledgeable and passionate about his profession. He truly strives to help his patients help themselves and encourages his us to exercise and maintain good health practices. In addition to his chiropractor expertise, I have also received acupuncture treatment from Dr Bawcom to treat my allergy and sinus issues. I have been a patient of Dr. Bawcom for about 9 years. He has always given terrific care that eases my pain immediately after an adjustment. He gave me tips and tricks to minimize my pain by correcting poor posture, etc. Whenever I slip back into the old habits he will see me the same day. He is also concerned about other aspects of my life, such as how my other family members are doing. I have been suffering with lower back pain for years. As a mother of two young children I needed some relief. I just found myself not being able to attend to their needs.
