Best

I've never been happier with a restaurant experience. The service was quick, and the drinks are absolutely sublime. I would recommend it to anyone!

Horrible Experience 2/5/2011

I had a horrible experience at the Chocolate Bar. My friends and I (all over the age of 22) were there for drinks and dessert. One friend did not have her id but said it was fine not to drink. The rest of us ordered drinks and were carded. The manager then came over and demanded that we all needed to leave. He was rude and created a scene. He was so loud that all of the tables around us were staring. We tried asking what the problem was, but the manager cut us off and continued to yell that we all needed to leave. We left and will not return again. more

Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate! 8/22/2010

My husband took me here for our anniversary. He had the chocolate beer shake which we both enjoyed. Something you would not think tastes anything good but in fact tasted very delicious. The atmosphere was very romantic (in the back area). The waitress was very helpful and knew what to recommend when asked questions. I always recommend this place to anyone who wants to try something different. more

FIrst, it's hard to get a 5 star from me. Those are reserved for really the best of the best. This place is pretty good though. Pros: Ambience. Service. Food / Drinks Cons: None. (Although be prepared this isn't Dairy Queen prices) more

Possibly My Favorite Place Ever 7/17/2008

Me and two of my friends went to St. Louis on a college trip circa 2004. In short, whenever we get together and travel we STILL talk about this place. My friend bought a cheesecake there and took one bite.. pulled the fork out of his mouth and said, ""I do believe this is the best cheesecake I've ever had."" I like stout beers and they had a ""stout beer float"" that was surprisingly good. Basically, this place specializes in alcoholic drinks and deserts, which is a strange combination that they somehow get to work well. They also played a bunch of music that I had never heard before but I really liked EVERY SINGLE song. Our waitress was hot and as nice as she could be. I don't know if it was just a good night for them, or if they're always like that, but if I ever return to St. Louis I WILL go back to Bailey's. If I ever move to St. Louis I'll make sure I live within walking distance. I normally don't gush about places, but it really was a great experience there. It would be an ABSOLUTELY PERFECT place to take a date. Pros: awesome desserts, creative menu, friendly staff.. very ""intimate"" and trendy place. Cons: slightly expensive, but well worth it. more

BEST Date Night Spot 10/1/2007

Great atmosphere, awesome service, and overall incredible food and drinks. We went earrlier in the evening at it wasn't crowded...they have patios seating available, too. I highly recommend this place to hang out, eat, or drink great drinks. Not the best if you are really really hungry. Pros: Incredible atmosphere Cons: Parking is a lityle far away more

Awesome desserts and drinks! 4/3/2007

Awesome desserts and drinks!! We stopped here for dessert after dining down the block at Ricardo's. The chocolate bar my wife had and my banana split were incredible. The Dark Chocolate Raspberry Martini I had was awesome. The atomsphere was cozy and very cool. (It was decorated in red and black colors). The service was just ok, though. I think our waitress was overwhelmed with all of her tables, there were only two working our room and the patio. It is in a nice location (Lafayette Square). Parking is where you can find a spot on the street. Pros: The food and drinks are excellent! Cons: Service was just ok. It was pricey. Two desserts cost us as much as dinner with appetizers. more

The chocolate fragrance alone.... 9/3/2006

Nestled in a hip area, the Chocolate Bar is one of my favorites! Whether you choose to eat pizza there or at another great Lafayette local...SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! The chocolate martinis are my favorite, but I have spent an evening trying their assortment of fine beers....the Black and Red or the cinnamon beer shake is a must try for the beer lovers. Pros: Assortment of martinis and beer, Desserts Cons: wait after 9pm more

great end to a date 8/20/2006

Bailey's Chocolate Bar is the best place to end a romantic date. The drinks and desserts are all delish! Pros: romantic, food to yummy Cons: crowded, service can be slow more

Suicide by Chocolate 1/15/2006

Sweet and very rich deserts are the mainstay of Bailey's. A quick read through the menu is sure to add a pound. The beer list is extensive, and the Chocolate Martini's the house signiture. All the deserts are rich and will bring you back. Cheeses and pizza are also available. Pros: Intimate, Great Food, Great staff Cons: Small tabels, tight seating, Busy weekends more

its basically death by chocolate 11/5/2005

perfect place to take a date; indoor and outdoor seating, no wait if you go on the weekdays but weeknites will prove hard to get seats; really really heavy delicious fulfilling chocolate more

Great Chocolate Martinis! 11/1/2005

This place was really crowded on a Saturday night. We had to sit outside on the back deck, so always have a coat or sweater with you in case. They had the deck closed in with heaters, but there is still a draft. They have good pizza and great desserts. Their sweet chocolate martini is not very sweet, but their rasberry chocolate martini is very sweet! Great beer selection too. more
