More Than Just Shopping 4/8/2006

The Arundel Mills Malls has everything you would expect from a new, suburban shopping center. There are a few larger department stores, but the ‘anchors’ of the mall are really the giant 24-screen movie theater, the Medieval Times dinner show, and Dave and Buster’s (formerly Jillian’s) for the arcade and entertainment. The food court is large with a variety of fast food places and there are other sit-down restaurants within the mall as well. On the weekends you’ll have trouble finding parking near the movie theater, and during the holiday season you’ll have trouble finding parking anywhere. The mall is clean and colorful and laid out conveniently for walking, so can be a good place to stretch your legs on a rainy day, even without shopping. more

Huge and confusing but worth a trip 3/30/2006

Arundel Mills Mall has some good stores and I've gotten some wonderful bargains there. I'd go more often if it was not so huge, though---the layout is a large oval with I think only one cut-through passageway in the middle. It's easy to get turned around and walk 3/4 of the way around the circle looking for that one store you still need to hit rather then just going 1/4 the other way. The food court is very limited and not very good. Parking is adequate but it's hard to get close to the entrances at any time of the day. more

Part Outlet, Part Entertainment Complex 2/4/2006

You will be hard pressed to visit Arundel Mills for an hour.. even two is slim. This mega mall outlet complex is set up like a giant indoor racetrack, with a ton of restaurants, a stadium seating movie theater, Medieval Times, and a Jillian's Entertainment Center. The biggest knock I've heard, and with which I will agree with, is that it's not completely an outlet. Some stores are outlets-- Banana Republic, Gap, and several kitchen stores. However, there are plenty of normal/specialty stores that are selling merchandise far from clearance/outlet prices. I suggest going for an afternoon and evening just for the fun of it; although I've seen better selection and prices in other venues, the theming (from pinball machines to palm trees) is worth the trip! more

OK buys, but no Potomac Mills 2/3/2006

When Arundel Mills opened amid much fanfare about two years ago, promoters touted it as a cousin to the Potomac Mills -- the popular off-price mall in Woodbridge, Va. But Arundel Mills just doesn't have the variety of Potomac Mills. The stores are fewer and the buys are not as plentiful. I once spent a couple of hours here in extreme frustration, with limited time and a birthday gift to buy, and in all that time, I wound up with something that was not what I would have selected had I had the time. At Potomac Mills, in that time, I would have been saddened that I did not have enough money to buy all the things I saw that I could use. Unlike Potomac Mills, which seems to appreciate the needs of the avid bargain shopper, Arundel Mills seems to be geared more toward the family outing. There are themed restaurants galore that children would enjoy. More for the family. Bargain hunters, head south to Potomac Mills. more

Heaven's Mall 11/28/2005

This is a huge discount mall by the Mills Corporation. Every now and then run special promotions with the Discover Card, which is affiliated with the Mills Corporation, so you earn like double cash back bonus. It is very clean and has some great stores. They have outlet versions of Gap, Banana Republic, etc. They are getting two new stores: Best Buy and Neiman Marcus. The place is like maze though, unless you go there a lot and have it figured out. There is ample parking but the parking near the theater is always full. So if you have specific time you would like to watch the movie get there on time. The food court is nice, but it need something more. There are other restaurants there, that aren't in the food court (which aren't fast food), they aren't all that either. The food is good and the prices are high at those restaurants. Also the quantity is less. more

nice mall, lots for everyone 10/1/2005

Arundel Mills is a great place to shop. They have a wide variety of stores, many of them outlets. There are several sit-down restaurants as well as a relatively large food court, so you are sure to find something to eat that you like. There is a huge movie theater, an arcade, and a Medieval Times as well. There are a few things I don't like, such as the fact that it gets insanely crowded during the holidays, and that it's owned by Coca Cola, so coke is advertised everywhere (for example, the entrances have "Coke bottle" archways you walk through). Overall though, it's a fun place. more

shopaholics, don't miss arundel mills! 8/31/2005

Arundel Mills is huge, with a variety of stores--regular retail and outlets--as well as quite a few restaurants, including Medieval Times, and a large movie theater. You can easily spend the day here, and I have. You can even bring men who hate to shop and drop them off at the outdoor world for hours, they seem to love it. Biggest con is parking--can get really messy on wknds and is horrendous around the holidays. Really could've used a garage or two. Overall, a great place to get all of your shopping done, but try to go early in the day! more
