Angelo's has best gyros in town! 9/12/2011

My husband and I treat ourselves to Angelo's at least once a month even thougth it is a fairly long drive for us from Miami Township. The gyros are the best we've ever had and we've tried them everywhere. We were there this past weekend and had the homemade mushroom soup and my husband, who isn't crazy about mushrooms, declared it the best soup he had ever eaten. It really was good. The only problem I had on this trip was that the waitress was not very focused, stopped to have long chats with patrons at other tables who she apparently knew, and we sat for long periods of time waiting for refills on drinks and for our check. This was an isolated incident, usually the wait staff is fine, but this lady should probably be the hostess, not a waitress. more

Real Family Feel 8/3/2011

Angelo's Family Restaurant has been a landmark in Finneytown for as long as I can remember. The restaurant has a great family feel and the prices are amazing for the amount of food that you get! more

Got Food Poisoning 2/9/2011

My husband and I had frequently eatten at Angelos. It was a place he could get chilli and cheese conies and I could get get something else. It did seem like lately the quality of food had gone down hill. The last few visits had produced some heartburn but our final visit there produced a case of food poisoning. My husband and I ordered different items and within 2 hours after eating I became violently ill. Two days later when I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the owner or manager, I told him what I had eaten and that it produced food poisoning. I asked if there had been any other complaints and that maybe they could pinpoint the culprit so no one else would get sick. He did not even offer an appology. The staff (not the owner) have always been nice but we will never eat there again. more

Poor food quality 11/23/2010

Lets start inside the restaurant: It's dated and not very clean, and has this ""old"" smell I can't describe. Bathrooms are very dirty and not kept up. I went in there to wash my hand and was disgusted. Service: Waitress was nice, but food delivery was very slow. We waited 30 minutes for our order, we had 4 people in our party, and didn't order anything special, just breakfast and lunch. Food: Food was bland, one guys fried fish sandwich wasn't cooked through and was raw in the center, we had to send it back. How does a ""chef"" screw up deep fried food that was pre-battered? He waited 12 minutes while we ate. The answer is he's not a chef and doesn't know how to cook. My breakfast potatoes was greasy and had an off flavor like the butter or oil they cooked with is rancid, eggs where over cooked, and my egg that was ordered over easy came broken. Only the BLT came in normal, it's just toast, bacon, tomato, its hard to screw that up. Bill: was way too high for what you get. over price Verdict: Avioid more

Great Party Room 10/3/2010

Attended a school reunion in Oct. 2010. The party room in the basement was lovely. The food and service was excellent. We had a sit down dinner. (Had a choice of 3 entrees) The beef was outstanding. There were cloth tablecloths, with china and silverware!. Gus was very helpful. I would recommend this restaruant for a group anytime. more

Terrible Food, Terrible Owner, Rude and inconsiderate 9/30/2010

I would like you all to know that the food here sucks mostly, and the owner personally is an inconsiderate ass...He has tormented his neighbors, and shot their dog and THEN tried to take over their yard for HIS personal use. There has been no consideration on his part for HIS errors, so i can only imagine how he treats his employees or the quality of his food..Personally, how you behave in your personal life reflects on you if you own a business...and my opinion is, get out of the business and out of town... more

Not that good 4/25/2010

The food was bland and lacked flavor and had an after taste. Angelo doesn't know how to cook and this is shows in dishs that lack flavor, and is just cheap food. How this place stays in business is beyond me. First, I asked for Olive oil in my salad. They put olive oil in, but I can immediately tell it's not olive oil, but pomace oil.. I couldn't believe a self respecting restaurant would use Pomace oil other then deep frying. Pomace is not OLIVE OIL ANGELO. Sald was also poor quality. McDonalds serves better food. Pros: clean, friendly service Cons: poor taste, lacks seasoning, bland, greasy more

Mel's Diner Branch in West Side 1/30/2008

We need an event catered and decided to try Angelo's as a possible candidate. Four of us tried different dishes and shared to compare thoughts. Angelo's serves large portions, possibly to make-up for the lack of taste in the food. There was little discernible difference between the dishes we ate, which wasn't good. The meats had neutral flavors when combined with old grease it didn't settle well. Good reasons exist as to why most of these dinosaurs long ago went out of business. Those reasons include proper preparation, appropriate selections, measured portions, decent seasoning, reduced fat content....... This place sits one rung below fast food, and Sysco sells much better ingredients to the food industry. Do your taste buds a favor and avoid Angelo's at all costs. Pros: Parking, fast service, kept clean, alcohol Cons: Food, tastes, seasoning, a true relic more

Angelo's Family Restaurant 6/8/2004

Angelo's define the words ""family restaurant"". The food is top quality with Angelo and son Gus cooking. Every night there are different specials and homemade soups. The menu is large so you can order a full meal, (fried chicken is great) breakfast or your choice of a large variety of sandwiches. On the weekends they have the best prime rib in the city. more

Family dining 6/3/2004

The food is well prepared by Angelo or his son Gus. Along with Angelo's wife, Helen, they greet you like family in the true Greek style. The food is tasty and they offer great prices. Pros: Inexpensive, Good Parking, Delicious food more
