I'm a happy camper 4/3/2006

My house has been furnished from American: washer, dryer, fridge, dishwasher, stove, lamps, sofa, loveseat, deep freeze, de-humidifier, window air conditioner, and a mattress. Clearly, the service and the products have been exceptional for us because we keep going back and spending money there. Because of the volume of sales and deliveries they have, if you need anything special such as an old sofa removed or a bed set up, be sure and request that service when you arrange the delivery time. We didn't have to pay extra, but it had to be pre-arranged at the time we arranged for delivery. more

I dont think so 4/3/2006

I have been in here a few times. I think the people work on commission, they are awfully pushy for a sale. Its okay to be greeted at the door and such, but they follow you around begging for your business when you just want to look at the merchandise. I have come in a few times looking at the specials they have, they have always tried to sell me something different that is more expensive. And I just walk out. Not worth it to me. I dont like high pressure sales. more

Great pricematching policy, horrible employees 9/25/2005

Ok, American actually is a pretty nice store. They have just about everything for the home, including furniture, and their price-match policy is fantastic (they will beat anyone's price, period). ...but to be honest, the employees here are, for the most part horrible. They don't help with lower commisioned products, they are rude on the phone, and they are sometimes hard to find on the floor. I don't want it to sound that ALL of the employees are this way, some are actually very nice and willing to help, but finding one of those isn't always the easiest task. more

Great place with great prices... The selection at American is HUGE! The prices are (most of the time) the lowest around town. Anything from electronics to furniture. The employees are very well informed and are always will to help. more

Employees really do work for you 6/22/2005

I like this business because they were on my list when searching for the computer I had been eyeing for weeks. Everyone else turned me away but they welcomed me with open arms. They told me about all their specials and extras and were quick to get me going with my goodies. They have such a broad range of stuff; kitchen applicances, electronics, furniture, bedroom sets...etc. They are a decent value for your money. They have some nice package deals for furniture, you may have to ask, I'm not sure if they come right out and tell you about them. more
