This office is terrible and I would never take my pet there again. After spending no more than a couple minutes with us and ignoring my questions, the vet came back in with an estimate. He wanted to not only perform unnecessary and expensive tests but also prescribed my pet a medication BEFORE giving him an actual diagnosis!! He also wrote a prescription for food without bothering to ask what he was currently eating.\r \r When I told the vet I was already feeding him the brand he was trying to prescribe, he stammered and said that it needed to be changed to the kidney formula. This was 30 seconds after telling me they needed additional tests (and more money) for the liver and a $40 prescription to help the liver function. Why would you prescribe a medication for the liver prior to a diagnosis? And why would you advise me to purchase special kidney food from your office if you suspect a liver problem? I tried to ask these questions but apparently 3 minutes is all the time allotted because while I was speaking he opened the door and started literally backing out. The only response I got was an irritated blank stare. He said he’d give me a few minutes to think about the estimate and shut the door. \r \r Needless to say I went for a second opinion. I spent less money taking my little guy to another vet and getting the correct diagnosis (it was his thyroid) than I would’ve spent had I listened to the horrible vet at this awful place. Ahwatukee Animal Care has been taking care of my dogs going on almost 20 years. They are very professional and dedicated to what they do. Dr. Herczegh is an amazing vet and I will not take my dogs anywhere else. In fact I now drive 30 miles for a visit and I wouldn't consider another vet. She has seen a few of my dogs come and go over the years. She knows what she is doing and I take her suggestions and opinions every time. She is honest and really loves what she does and it shows. Between my house and my brothers house she takes care of 6 dogs, 1 cat. Claudia works the front desk and she is amazing as I'm sure the rest of the staff there is great as well. Do not hesitate to make Ahwatukee Animal Care Hosipital your choice. You will not be disappointed, I haven't in 18 years. more

I have mixed emotions about this office. I will never take my animals here again, however Dr. Jenkins was very sympathetic and tried help my 4yr old Lab. Her original vet was Dr. Herczegh and she basically mis-diagnosed my dog. After TWO AND HALF yrs on Prednisone (sp?) for allergies I decided to go for a second opinion. She was diagnosed with Addison's disease, which was initiated by too much steroid!! Took her to see Dr. Jenkins next. He was shocked at her appearance and health condition, but by then it was too late. I was already hundrends of dollars into this office and no remedy insight. Needless to say my Lab had to be put down. She was skeletal and hairless.....her life shortened by the original treatment. I agree the staff is very 'teen-age' and not very caring. But Dr. Jenkins was great! I can't forgive the original Dr. so that's why I will never go here again. more

Staff not cooperative when you have problem. They try to blame the client when the problem is there fault. Female dog was spayed and sent home without a cone-when dog licked herself because she was leaking. dog owner was told that she should have gone to petsmart to buy a cone. Dog should not have leaked bloody liquid for 2 weeks after procedure. Staff was uncooperative and rude. Owner never able to talk directly with Vet. for answer to questions. more

This clinic is staffed by some of the WORST behaved people I've ever encountered. They are rude, unhelpful, and full of teenage-like attitude. Will never ever return. more

I love the Ahwatukee Animal Hospital. They are always so friendly and helpful. Dr. Jenkins couldn't be more helpful and sensitive. Would highly recommend! more
