Review content:
When I was a little girl, it was the biggest treat for my parents to take me to Baskin-Robbins for ice cream. (Little did I know back then, that my mom loved the stuff more than I did!) We used to go to the B-R on Florida Blvd. at Sherwood in Baton Rouge.
Now a mom myself, my kids are always begging me to take them to the Baskin-Robbins where we live in Denham Springs and little do they know how happy I am to oblige!
The Denham B-R is fairly small, and it's in an older shopping center though it's clean and bright. They have a smaller selection than I remember as a little girl, or maybe I'm just older, I don't know...but they always have my favorites: Rocky Road and Pistachio Almond. There are some sugar-free and fat-free varieties, some sherbets, and various kind of cones. They make good frozen coffee drinks. They have a medium sized cooler with pre-made ice cream cakes.
Now if you're looking for value, go to Wal-Mart and buy a half-gallon of ice cream. You'll get a lot more ice cream for your money. But if you're looking for the EXPERIENCE...or the convenience...prices aren't unreasonable. You can get a child-sized cone for the kids and it's still a lot of ice cream. And look for coupons in the Entertainment Book to get some of your favorites for cheaper.
This is a great place to go, with a convenient location, on Range between Walmart and Blockbuster. There used to be a signal light to help you turn left out of the shopping center, but they've taken it down and you may find exiting to the left in traffic to be a little tricky.
