My wife and I are locals, and so we try to support our local establishments when ever we can. I had heard mixed reviews from friends about the Greenbrier Restaurant, but wanted to try it out with some friends from out of town. First, we were unaware that they require reservations, but we were there in the middle of the week and arrived early. The hostess informed us of the reservation policy, but said she could seat us in the bar area, which we didn't mind. Soon after we were seated, one of the bartenders brought us water and silverware. My wife requested water with no ice, and the guy gave her a nasty look, went and got the water an plopped it down in front of her, clearly with an attitude. When the waiter came, he couldn't seem to put his sentences together, and appeared to have been drinking or was stoned. he took our order twice and kept coughing on us and mumbling incoherently. We talked between ourselves about leaving at that time, but I wanted to give them another chance . A HALF HOUR later they brought out 2 of our 4 salads. 10 minutes later they brought my wife's out, and mine never came. when I asked another server what was going on, he sent for our waiter, who came to me and asked what I had ordered. I told him, and he said he had made a mistake. He then proceeded to take each one of our orders AGAIN. Now it was over 2 hours from our arrival time, until our meals were served by a different server. It was a little difficult to enjoy our meals after that fiasco, and their prices were not equal to the totally substandard service they provided. My guests stated that they will never return, and I will also never return. I will also be telling this story to every one of my local friends, to ensure they don't experience this.
