What this place did to our dog is inexcusable!\r
What should have been a small emergency case of rest and re-hydration for a dog has turned into a life and death situation exacerbated by a vet too incompetent to actually care for our dog.\r
If you value your pet I would stay far away from SCAH!\r

While my husband and I were out of town this week (04/05/08), we put our dog in ""day care."" While he was there he stopped eating/drinking. The day care felt that it was an emergency and took him to SCAH.\r

We rushed back to town as fast as we could and taken to the back of the animal hospital where we found our dog in a kennel with an IV in his paw, soaking in his own urine. We were pretty horrified about the state of our pet. The back of the animal hospital was total chaos, we could not find the attending vet and the staff could not be bothered to assist us. \r

We had to leave our dog overnight so that he could be re-hydrated. When we came back the next day we were presented with a bill that included a charge for ""wound cleaning/clipping."" We were horrified! We were never told that the dog had any wounds and when we questioned it we were told it was for treating hotspots and scald. \r

The vet never bothered to mention that while they allowed our dog to soak in his own urine he was getting excruciating, infected bedsores. \r

When the dog was finally brought out to us he had been shaved over a third of his body and was covered in red, infected blisters. He could not walk at all and looked like he had been run over by a car.\r

The staff treated us with plenty of attitude, the vet acted as if we were wasting his time and we were presented with an enormous bill (which included unnecessary tests). We were then given back our dog in such terrible condition that we thought we were going to have to put him down. We're still not sure if he's going to make it.
Pros: Absolutely none.
Cons: Incompetent vet, rude staff, over-priced, chaotic/unprofessional atmosphere.
