I moved to the Charlotte area in September '08. By December, I still hadn't established doctors in the area, so I called this clinic upon the recommendation of a colleague. I wasn't sick, but I do have some significant pre-existing conditions that I need to have managed by a doctor. When I called, I told the receptionist that I'd like to schedule an appointment to get my medical records transferred and to establish a patient record complete with referrals (if needed) to specialists, etc. I move fairly frequently and have ALWAYS had to do this with other physicians before I could be seen as a ""patient"". The receptionist told me that they don't have ""those kinds"" of appointments on patients and that if I wanted to come in, I could either wait until I was sick or I could schedule a physical, but that would be several months out. I said to her ""oh, okay, well, because of my pre-existing conditions, I've always had to be a patient of record before being seen"" and she responded with ""no, we'll just see if there's anything we need to know about you when you get sick and come in."" Seriously? When I do get sick, I don't particularly want to go to someone that knows absolutely nothing about me OR my medical history or be relied upon to complete a medical history on the spot while feeling lousy and probably not thinking clearly. I'm still without a doctor, but I'll take my business elsewhere, thanks. Pros: Close to my new office Cons: Wouldn't let me in the door unless I was sick or scheduled a physical for several months out
