Review content:
I went to East Coast Pizza this week. Here is my story: My fiancée and I were grabbing a quick lunch at East Coast Pizza. I had been there before, and had never had a reason to complain. We ordered our food, paid, and then took a seat. We were enjoying a nice lunch together, and things were going very well. As we were chatting, I heard a voice behind me, ""If you are going to drink soda here, you have to pay for it!"" I turned around and saw an older employee. I did not get his name, but he had an earring and was balding. My fiancée was drinking a water. I was drinking a Dr. Pepper that I had paid for. I replied, ""I paid for this soda. I don't understand."" ""If you paid for the soda, it would be in a blue cup. Otherwise it is stealing,"" he said. I reassured the man that I had paid for the soda. Another employee at the register had handed me the cup that I was using. I was not aware of the color-coated system, and so I did not know that I should have corrected the employee when I had paid. However, the older employee seemed skeptical and stormed off. I was agitated and upset at this treatment. I was just trying to have lunch with my fiancée, and suddenly I was very rudely and incorrectly accused of stealing. The man still seemed skeptical as he stood over by the register. My fiancée stared at me in disbelief. Did that just happen? This experience wasn't making East Coast Pizza look like a very friendly place, and lunch was obviously ruined. I dug my receipt out of my pocket and went to the register. I wanted to prove my innocence. I handed the receipt over to the man, ""Here is my receipt, and I just want to say that I don't appreciate the way that I was just treated."" His response was one word: ""Tough."" I was once again shocked. How could the customer service be so bad. No apology for accusing me of stealing. Just ""tough."" The food was fine. However, the behavior of the employee was disgusting, and I left the restaurant with a bad taste in my mouth. I don't ever plan on returning. I hope that others read this review and don't go there either. No one should be treated that way.
