The other evening, a friend and I stopped into the Uncle Milf's Lake Norman Tavern for a couple drinks. We were looking forward to going to a dive bar, but were pleasantly disappointed when we got inside and realized it really wasn't a dive bar at all.
It wasn't too crowded on Friday evening, so we posted up to the bar, which isn't that large for seating. The majority of the seating in the place comes from tables booths as we found out from the owner it's primary agenda at Uncle Milf's is to serve food and have a fun place for people to hang out.
The owner talked to us for quite a long time, and offered free chicken wings to us when we asked how they were. He takes a lot of passion in his food and you can tell he wanted to show off his dedication which was nice. During dinner they have a very extensive menu ranging from regular pub fare to decent sounding entrees. After 11, I think, they have a late night menu which is pretty much consisting of deep fried goodness, the menu is available until close.
Not your typical bar it has plenty of stuff to do, and it seems like it would be a good place to go with a large group of people. There is a full sand volleyball court, horseshoes and cornhole out back. Inside there is shuffleboard, pool, darts and a couple other games.
Don't be turned away by the somewhat shady looking building on the side of the road or the name. Uncle Milf's is definitely worth checking out!
