I went with a friend when we were walking around Times Square. First the hostess downstairs could barely speak English when my date asked if we could eat upstairs, and she didn't seem to want to let us go up, but finally we just went upstairs. There were about a dozen tables upstairs and only one or two were full, with at least 3 booths open, so when the waitress seated us at a tiny table, my date asked if we could have a booth, and the waitress said no! But while we were sitting, another party of two was seated at one of the booths! They were done quickly and were soon replaced by another party of two! (Those two people did not even stay to eat - a good choice - and were quickly replaced by another party of two.) First we each ordered soup, and since the soup of the day was split pea, which I like, I tried it, but it was awful. Ben's Deli has pea soup on Tuesdays and it's SO much better. Then the waiter never even bothered to ask if we wanted anything else (we wanted to share a sandwich), so we had to flag him down to order. The cornbeef was very fatty and unappetizing. I didn't see the check, but I sure hope that they didn't charge us the $3 sharing fee for the sandwich, since we did each order a bowl of soup first. Just stay far away from this gross, rude place and go to Ben's. Cons: rude service, bad food
