This zoo is still unique and user-friendly. The staff is approachable and the animals are treated kindly. If you spend enough time at the zoo you will find that most of the animals have names- like Zelda the Zebu in the petting zoo.
They just acquired kangaroos and have a wonderful exhibit with Emus and Roos together. My daughter, who is a Wiggles fanatic, just loved that she could get so close to the emus! (You know their song, "Move like an emu moves...")
Generally the zoo also has different animals out for hands-on fun. I put on my bravest face when my daughter wanted to see the snake!
The annual pass is a super value! With it you gain free access to numerous other zoos nationwide and heavily discounted access to many other exhibits. It just doesn't get any better than this.
Be sure to stop and ride the carousel and authentic steam train on your way in!
