Chef Mate Appliances 5/23/2007

Recently I had to buy a 2nd home in another city and with that purchase I needed to fill it up with the appliances and furniture I would need on a daily basis. To keep expenses low I went for lower cost items for the appliances and so far I've been happy enough with the products that I'm rethinking how I purchase products like this in the future. The adage "you get what you pay for" is true most of the time but the guy who started that phrase may never have had to things on a budget. ;) No, really, I have been happy so far with the toaster and microwave I purchased that were Chef Mate brand and I bought them at Target. This store got a lot of my business as I was furnishing my new place - all except for the major furniture pieces. I'll write about those in a review of Furniture on Consignment (they sell all new too). For now though, if you're trying to fill a dorm room or a 1st time apartment on a budget and want decent appliances that don't cost an arm and a leg - check these deals out. The toaster cost me less than $7 (before tax) and the microwave was under $50 and that included a digital display - there was an even lower cost one (around $30) that had dials instead of digital controls.
