I've got to believe that she has tremendous overhead, what with a boutique on NW 23rd and everything, and there is no denying that the fabrics and craftswomanship are almost the non plus ultra . That being said, I still found myself cringing a little bit at her motto, "You better check yourself before you dress yourself," and the $140 bill for my two-piece layering tee set. It was so very soft and a great color on me, though! The layering tees are a good example of her style, which seems either a lovely, whimsical, and chic version of a classic, or a well-tailored version of trendier fashions. This may seem a little too simplistic to some. This is certainly not in the price range for the average gal, but of course these clothes are not intended for just anyone, right? The only saving grace of a label with such an ostentatious tag line is that there is nothing on the exterior of the clothing that shouts, "I got this at Michelle deCourcy!"
