It was 4:30 am Saturday night. I woke up to my Great Dane in the beginning stages of bloat - a true vet emergency and one that couldn't be rectified without a knowledgeable vet on hand. I called ahead to let them know what I was dealing with and away we went since this was an issue where time is of the essence.\r

There I met with Dr. Barnes and Jade, one of the techs. I am sure, due to the fact that I remained calm during my emergency so I could listen to what they were telling me with politeness and consideration, I received the same in return. The staff was not only skilled, but relieved how I chose to conduct myself. Face it, many folks do not come to this conclusion and there is a great deal of abuse they have to put up with from the public with an emergency. As both an EMT and an animal care provider myself, I too have to deal with this everyday. People are human and it is a fact you get out what you put in.
