Breck's? More like BLECH's 6/10/2010

We just got back from Mc Donald's right after we left Breck's. Service was horrible, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The place was packed and I was excited to see what I was going to get. So I put up with the 15 minute wait to get my drink order. Then the waitress gets around to us and comps our drinks...then offered us a free fried mushroom appetizer for waiting some more. We finally get to ordering . My wife and I each got a 20 ounce rib eye. I love rib eye, give me a nice marbled hunk of meat, and I'm in heaven. So the waitress comes out with our salads (from a bag w/ cherry tomatoes and cucumbers). The salad was by far the best part of the meal. Then came our sweaty jock strap smelling bloody beef jerky fillets. They cook their steaks on a flat-top, which is equivalent to me cooking it in a frying pan. I have no idea what seasoning they used but I believe it made the steak tougher. They could have saved 2 cents and left it off of the steak. Four of the 20 ounces was fat, and not that nicely charred fat that gives the steak a nice flavor. I don't even know how to describe this kind of fat, I instantly lost my appetite after seeing this desecration. I got up and left it was that bad. It didn't even deserve a discussion on how bad the meal was and how they could fix it. Even just thinking about this makes me nauseous. Charleston, what were you thinking telling me how great this place is? Dear Texas Roadhouse Across the Street: I am so sorry for ever cheating on you. I promise I will never go anywhere else for steak. Pros: Excellent bagged salad Cons: The Steaks more
