We went to get a tattoo from "the best" tattoo parlor in San Antonio and were told (by the front desk guy) that the design my wife wanted (she is no stranger to tattoos) would not look good and that "the artist" would recommend something better looking. I understand an artist desire for creativity (I am an Architect with a great understanding of art knowledge and design history - probably more extensive than these poseurs), but the client is also important.
