After reading all the great reviews we decided to check it out. Have to say, its probably my least favorite restaurant since moving here 3 years ago and we eat out on a regular basis. The service was great, everything else was disappointing from the cheap looking Ikea type decor to the stinky odor of the place and most importantly the uninspiring food. Is any of the food cooked to order at this restaurant? You are basically getting close to a dozen items served to you at once of vary temperatures and flavors. Just about all of it lacked in flavor, the green bean salad with chestnuts was the only standout. I think we spent $130 for 2 people so its not cheap. Considering all the great options in Capitol Hill these days I won't be returning to Poppy any time soon. Good luck.
