Not a good place to eat on Mother's day 5/25/2007

We frequent go to China Star on Montgomery for lunch after church around noon. Typically, their adult/senior pricing is around $9.00 +/-. On this last Mother's Day in 2007, there was an 8 x 11 sheet of paper posted on their entrance door that said the price was $12.95 for that specific day. We assumed that they would be offering a special Mother's day buffet! Forget that! One of their main features was even closed down on that day, the create your own indgenrients (I don't recall what they refer to it as) was shut down ""awaiting parts from China"". There was not one single item on the buffet that was not offered on any other Sunday that we have visited there (probably about 20 visits per year). In fact, what we assumed to be the owner or manager, a gentlemen in his 50s or 60s, was meandering around, smiling and ""making sure"" everything was ""okay"". \r \r Bottom line? The food is good. However, someone in the ownership (i.e., food chain) decided to rip-off the customer on Mother's Day. That person needs to remove themself (or with another's assistance!) from the decision making powers that influence repeat customer business. My mother and wife were really ""put-off"" by the mark-up of prices on their special occasion day. \r \r StormTight has spoken truthfully. more
