A few years ago this place was expanded and renovated. It looks pretty nice, much nicer than most diners, and the food is decent. But the service is as bad as it ever was, mostly grouchy older men. If your burger arrives raw and you send it back, count on it coming back on the same soggy bun 2nd time around. They are deaf to complaints. There are so many good diners in this neighborhood, I don't know why anyone would go here unless you are tied to the location. The diners at 79th and 1st or 86th and 1st may not be as pretty but the food and service are much better.\r

This morning was the worst - and funniest - ever. My husband ordered wheat toast and I ordered rye. The food arrived with a double order of rye so I reminded her that he ordered wheat. When she came back with it, she actually put both hands on my stack of rye toast and took back half. I had sliced the stack in half so she sort of had to struggle to pick it up but she was determined. After she walked away we cracked up. Quite the training program they're running over there!
