ok, after reading all the review i can't help but laugh. because when i think of madame tong's (one of the many JL institutions) i think of some amazing times i have had there. but when people mention the service and long waits, i would be lying if i said that they were not speaking the truth. the first time i went to tong's was with a big group of friends for a hamptons magazine event. don't get me wrong, the party was fabulous, but when we all decided we were hungry and would try and get a seat, that was when the nightmare kicked in. not only were we wating for a server to even come to our table for about an hour, after we ordered it took another hour to get our appetizers. it was miserable. but you know, i cant help but love the food at tongs. i love the dragon sushi and their general lloyds chicken. i had my birthday dinner here with my parents and they loved it MINUS the hour wait to get seated. i have been with my girls as well, and we love the crowd. its just nice to be around your own kind. i recommend tong's for that chic night out with fabulous people, drinks, and sushi. but if you aren't patient or in the mood to wait for your table dont even think about going here and try next door at nellos or savannas - both great places.
Pros: sushi. cocktail. fabulous people.
Cons: longest wait known to man.
