Mac's isn't special until you don't have it anymore. Having returned from 13 years away from DFW, spent in San Francisco, Portland, and Denver, we often longed for a great neighborhood place like this. Far above the quality of the national chains it competes with, Mac's offers a solid, excellent meal, in comfortable seating, excecuted perfectly and served with courtesy and efficiency. Start with the excellent house salad, which may be consistently the best salad found in any restaurant. The steaks are consistently excellent, with a variety of sauces available. The seafood is fresh with a variety of preparations, but the grilled shrimp is always superb. The chicken fired steak is perfect. I only wish they'd bring the cheeseburger back to the menu; 13 years ago it could compete with Kincaids.
