Ethiopian Food on Capitol Hill in Seattle 8/29/2011

My daughter and I arrived at about 10:30 A. M., were served before 11. We got the combo, #45, and ate until we were dizzy, and took the rest home. Amazing feast, I recommend entirely. Tastes, textures, a delight for the senses. With her soda and a large tip we left having spent a little more than $20. more

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Seattle 9/7/2010

I must have driven past Zobel a hundred times before I finally stopped in for a bite. At a glance it doesn't look like much. I love when I find myself at a place like this. It's almost like my mom opened a restaurant, and is serving up her finest. I find a lot of Ethiopian restaurants have this feel. The food doesn't disappoint, and the service was great. The portions for the price are more than fair too. Zobel wasn't a gourmet joint, but more a friendly neighborhood restaurant that is great for a quick bite with friends. I don't know a whole lot about this area of Seattle, but I feel inspired to find out more. It seems there is a cluster of Ethiopian businesses that need further exploration. more

Authentic Ethiopian Cusine in the Heart of Seattle!

Owner Message
  • Zobel Ethiopian Restaurant has been in business since 1993. Though it was closed the last couple of years, we opened again with a new management and a better service. At Zobel, we serve traditional Ethiopian food, wine, and coffee. The food typically consists of spicy vegetable and meat dishes, usually in the form of wat, a thick stew, served atop injera, and a large sourdough flatbread.

We love our customers and will do everything we can to provide you with a fresh and exciting meal. We have a full bar and provide catering for special events. We also do private parties at affordable rates! Whether it's a date with your special someone or a graduation party, Zobel is here for you! We are located in the heart of Seattle nestled between the Capitol Hill, First Hill, and the Central District. Our neighborhood is as diverse as our food, and is a hub for Ethiopian culture.
