hi i been go to zaytoons for 2 years i never had any proplem i love the food and the place . the people work there frindly . the last 2 time i was there i found big guy behind the counter he left me standing long time wating for him to take my order and he is busy talking with every body and when he fainily take my order he give me wrong food and same thing hapin the 2nd time i was there . i dont have to kiss his hand to take my order i love zaytoons i want to eat from there but i need batter servic..... more

Fresh. Friendly. Consistent. You can't go wrong. I have been eating here for years and have NEVER had a bad meal. [ this one person who gave it a bad review might prefer fast food? I like how they mention the ""Hispanics"" in the kitchen. What is THAT supposed to mean? ] DELIGHTFUL and DELISH! more

Truly Horrible Food. 6/29/2008

The vanderbuilt location was a tremendous disappointment. 1 poor waiter serving a full restaurant. Hard, overcooked, almost black, old falafels, the cucumber yogurt so salty you couldn't eat it, the rice was cold, yes cold! And the salad was very boring and make with out any care (despite 5 hispanics working in the kitchen, but hey maybe thats why) What a waste of money!! Yuck! worth the wait 4/20/2008

I had the best dinner last night @ Zaytoons. Friends and I had to wait only 10 mins for a table, but the food came out in ten mins also. We ordered a meze plate of 5 different salads. Cucumber yogurt was creamy and the grape leaves were tasty. Individual pizzas made it easy to share and experience different tastes. The staff was so great. The waitress was very busy so she forgot our water but we didn't mind too much since it was byob. I will go back and plan on sitting outside next time its warmer. all i want to say zaytoons is a good place and good food. but the delivery servic is horrible i order delivery every 2 days . i dont know whats going on i never got my order right . i use to got it right and i was happy but not any more what make me angry when i call to tolde thim about the mistak no one says sorry they make it sound is my mistak.. thats horrible more

good food, rude service 9/5/2007

We got food to go at Zaytoons the other night and the food was fine but the person that took our order at the counter was so rude I'll never go back. He spoke to us rudely, kept interrupting us, and then once our bag was packed, let it sit on the counter in front of us for 5 minutes before telling us it was ours (knowing full well we were standing there the entire time). There are plenty of other great places to eat Middle Eastern food in Brooklyn so there is no reason to support a place that treats customers so poorly. This place is tiny, so it's much easier to go during the warmer months when you can sit outside. The food is consistently amazing and in large quantity. Leg of lamb is the best dish and without bothering with appetizers, will leave anyone full. No alcohol. more

Excellent Food - Great Service - Not to mention the eye candy! 5/2/2007

I have been eating at Zaytoons at least once a week for the past 6 months. I usually go with friends who all love the food and the service. I must admit beside loving the food I go to look at the guy with all the muscles who works there. He makes my dining experience worth it more than I can say. WOW! Who needs dessert when you can look at him! more

I have eaten here many times and always been pleased with food and service. Ordered delivery with a friend recently; the order arrived incorrectly so we sent back the side for which we had been incorrectly charged. The delivery guy was very understanding and polite, but then minutes later the dispatcher/owner called and blew his top about a ***$2*** item. I explained the situation, and he started giving me a hard time, so I hung up. I then received EIGHT phone calls from at least 3 different numbers -- all of them clearly from the restaurant. Considered calling the police and reporting harrassment. Will *NEVER* order take-out from them again, which is a shame because the food was yummy. more

Love this place! 10/26/2006

i went here for dinner on my first date with my boyfriend, and i fell in love with it from the start. i find myself always craving their hummus and their spinach pie is so good. they're a bit cramped and sometimes there's a wait, but i hear they're going to expand so that's a plus. Pros: great food Cons: small space, sometimes a wait to get in more

best restaurant in the area 7/20/2006

I live right around the corner from Zaytoon's and have been dining there regularly for the past 5 years. The food is phenominal and the prices are great. Their hummus is outstanding. The falafel and the pizzas are all very good as well. In my opinion it is the best restaurant in the nieghborhood, and that's really saying something as there are many great places to eat there. This is always the first place I recommend to people who are exploring or new to the area. Pros: phenominal food Cons: small space more

This food was excellent! I had the sundried tomato, pepper, scallion dip with the flat bread for a starter. Then I had the shish kabab (lamb) with thier fragrant rice and light salad, DELICISOUS!!! My bf did not like all his food but I made ALL the right choices. :-) For the amount of food we ate, STUFFED to the GILLS and my bf can eat, it came out to $40 for the two of us including the ice mint tea we had! WONDERFUL deal... could not believe how inexpensive it was!!! Pros: Great food and atmosphere... Cons: The are not closer to my house... :-) more

Smith Street - Friday Night 3/31/2006

Some Friday's I'm just broke, but since I'm committed to eating out every Friday night, I 'm glad there is a Zaytoons. On a cold winter evening, when you open their door, the smell of roasting overwhelms you. Your glasses fog and you settle in for some soup and hommus. Toni and I brought our own wine last week. The owner is mean 12/10/2005

We had gone to Zaytoon's numerous times and had good experiences. Recently, we called to place an order for delievery. When the order arrived, it was incorrect. We called the restaurant and I spoke to the owner. He insisted this is what I had ordered and refused to fix the problem, so we sent the food back with the delievery man. A few minutes later the owner actually called me and YELLED at me! He said to never order or come back there again, which of course, we won't. Cons: attitude, cleanliness more
