Although its always sounded great, my Martin D16's voice has now exceeded my expectations. The skilled Luthiers of Willcutt Guitars are excellent craftsmen. A custom bone nut/ bridge pins, fret work and new Schallers have transformed this basic Martin Dreadnought into a custom beauty. I would highly recommend this firm. more

I have been in there 4 or 5 times looking for a left handed guitar. No one would point me in the right direction. I asked one associate if they had any and he said yeah....thats it. Then another one I asked said yes (only after I asked for a Gibson LP). He showed it to me on the webpage then took 45 minutes upstairs looking for only to tell me he couldnt find it, I also went over to repair shop and wanted to covert an DOT 335 from chrome to gold hardware and new humbuckers. The person in the shop wouldnt even stop what he was doing long enough to turn around and look at me or the guitar. I finally decided I wont be back into the Lexington Store. I took it to the Richmond Ky store and asked the guy there...he looked everything up and showed me what was available and even helped me decide which humbuckers would be best. If Jamey in Richmond can do the work Ill take it to him,,,,,if not Ill find another guitar shop. more

Good: Amazing selection, knowledgable staff, friendly atmosphere, a well trained group of people that know exactly what they are doing. Bad: everything was awesome!. Improvements: no improvements needed!. Other: A great place down in Lexington KY that is worth checking out in person or online!. more

I had my grandfather's Martin and all the stores wanted to buy it cheap until I went to Willcutt's and they told me what it was worth and how to sell it for the most. They are so honest and know their guitars. more

This is the only place in this region to go. I have been a customer for over 30 years. These guys are pros and know what they are doing. It's where the pros can go and where beginners and pros alike can ask questions and get answers. Bob listens, hears and acts. more

Biggest collection of guitars in KY!! Wider selection and better prices than Wal-Mar---- I mean, Guitar Center. Also unlike the aforementioned, Willcutt has a very knowledgeable staff and repair center that provides ridiculous service. I'll certainly be back..... more

I know many fine musicians from all parts of the world. One thing they have in common is Bob Willcutt. They all know and respect him as the definitive authority on guitars. Bob is also a pretty good guy. We (the Kentucky brethren of musicians) are all better off having Bob and Willcutt Guitars in our lives. more

Although the store's enviroment can seem a bit cold shouldered sometimes, they really do do their best for their customers. They really shine in their guitar shop though! Bob and Richard work endlessly to make top notch work on all their projects. I personally have had additions and major changes on my guitars, with several pickup changes, etc., and they've always turned out beyond my expectations! more

These guys knew what they were talking about when I needed help picking out a good guitar. They even matched prices and did a free pro setup to get it playing the way I like it. Highly recommended. more
