Salads much better at the restaurant.

Amazing!! 11/15/2004

We had the greatest time at Wildfire. It came very highly recommended and it exceeded all of our standards. The ambiance, the service and the food were above and beyond. If you are in Chicago...visit Wildfire!! Pros: Service, Ambiance, Steak more

very nice 4/26/2004

I was very pleased with the food, atmosphere and price of this restaurant. We went on a Saturday night and the service was great too. A short wait with reservations and we got a booth overlooking the main crowd. The wall to wall mirrors make the place seem huge and uncrowded. I've tried Ruth's Chris, Capital Grille, etc., but Wildfire is untouchable for value Pros: food, value, ambience more

good food 3/7/2004

ROMANCE!!!!! 2/3/2004

We were here in October of 2003, and had the best possible experience of our lives at Wildfire! We are a newly re-united couple after 26 years of being apart and are more in love than we can even believe. Our dinner at Wildfire was one we will never forget! From the wonderful table they gave us to the spectacular food we ate and the great service we received it was just a wonderful experience! I will reccommend them to everyone and will come back as often as we can!! We were made to feel like royalty! Pros: Worth every penny, Fantastic Food, Romance is the word more

wild on wildfire 9/18/2003

very pleased with the food at wildfire. ribs were great as was the house salad (served for 2). the creamed spinach is as good as berghoff's and the potatoes with vermont cheddar were decadent. not inexpensive but worthwhile. very good service-get there early as it gets very busy quickly. more

Swank, Sweet and Swift 8/8/2003

Wildfire is a big room, teeming with people and they look happy -- for good reason. I like the ""buzzy"" feel without having to push my way through the crowd, and appreciate the professional, friendly and efficient wait and hosting staff -- the crowds verge on Great America proportions but you always feel like an individual customer and the service matches the (not cheap) prices. The food is great and the waitstaff is uniformly well educated in the menu and the short but thoughtful wine list (and if you show an interest in the pricier or more interesting stuff, they'll bring out the ""secret"" Captain's List of wines, which is where you'll find your best bets). One caveat is the use of ""crusts"" on the steaks, which I find to be overkill and moreover unnecessary -- no need to complement the fantastic flavor of the top-notch beef served at Wildfire. Pros: 10+ waitstaff, "Buzz" and atmosphere, Smart wine list Cons: Long waits, Salads a bit weak, Unexceptional dessert more

Fantastic! 7/23/2003

This is one of the best restaurants around. It's consistently good, the food is well-prepared, and the atmosphere's a lot of fun. My only complaint: it's now WAY too popular/hard to get into! Pros: Food quality/variety, Atmosphere, Location Cons: Too popular! more

Superb steakhouse experience 2/25/2003

The atmosphere was alright, the service was decent, but the steaks were absolutely delightful. I do not claim to be a steak expert, but at the very least, they were better than Morton's. They were succulent, tender, tasty, and cooked just right. My friends loved it, as well. I would highly recommend eating there. more

flare for filets 2/7/2003

Excellent service, excellent atmosphere and excellent food! The best filet mignon I have ever had. Paired with the creamed spinich and mashed potatoes (I shared with my husband) my taste buds couldn't have been happier. Not to mention a great chocolate martini and spunky ice cream sandwiches for dessert. Simply wonderful!! more

Great food 12/2/2002

All around best restaurant within 50 miles of the Loop. Would recommend to anyone searching for amazing ""normal"" food. With traditional dishes from Chicken to Seafood all will be pleased. Pros: Food choice/quality, Friendly service Cons: Not enough servers more

AMAZING!!! 10/27/2002

As I first time Wildfire go-er, I am in love with my experience. The food was unbelievable, the service was top notch, and I plan on coming again and again. From the goat cheese appetizer to the horseradish steak to the german chocolate dessert it was truly an amazing meal! A+ more

Great Steaks & Martinis! 10/15/2002

Wildfire is my favorite place in Chicago for Filet Mignon, Martinis and Key Lime Pie. Service if fantastic! more

Excellent! 6/25/2002

I have been to a lot of different steakhouses, both chains and local establishments and I was very impressed by Wildfire. The service was nearly flawless and I thought the food was excellent. The prices are less than $25 a plate, so I believe it is great value. I would recommend this up-and-coming restaurant. more

  • With the lively spirit of a 1940s supper club and a menu that defines ?American comfort food,? Wildfire has become an American favorite. Wood-fired ovens and spit roasters add a special flavor to the fresh, top-quality meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables, while a broad range of cocktails and wines ? several available in multi-glass tasting ?flights? ? add to the delight.

Specialties include fish and steaks prepared with a variety of tasty crusts ranging from macadamia nuts to horseradish; prime ribs of beef, barbecued baby back ribs, fabulous salads, and a range of exceptional sandwiches are the regular fare. They?re supplemented with nightly and seasonal specials in every menu category. Giant baked, double-baked, and barbecue-rubbed sweet potatoes, creamed spinach, and other sides add to the pleasure.

Wildfire?s desserts are special, too, with great individual and full-size pies, ice-cream and pudding creations, and fresh-fruit-based treats.
