I went in with dark brown hair and came out as a blonde exactly the way I imagined. Lindsey Travis was my stylist and the girl knows what she's doing. Good conversations, people, and atmosphere. I felt like a hair model when I walked out of that place and being on South Congress put and little more getty'up in my strut. more

Several friends recommended Wet Salon to me, and specifically Jessica. My first appointment I brought in a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like and Jessica made it happen. Seriously, the best haircut I have ever had. I'll be back..... Thank you for a great haircut. I love it! more

I joined Citysearch just so I could write this review of Ruby Martin at Wet Salon. She just gave my a dynamite haircut!! She's an artist who knows what looks great on you. I just told her to do her magic, and poof! thirty minutes later I looked fabulous. She's also sweet and funny and not one of those annoyingly arrogant stylists who make you feel like they're gracing you with their greatness. Ruby's down to earth, friendly, and super talented. five stars. more

The headline says it all. I have been visiting Wet for close to 3 years, since moving from Chicago. It is friendly, non-pretentious, well-priced, and vibrant. The stylists do not keep you waiting, the salon is clean and wonderfully eclectic, and moreover, you will be more than satisfied with your hair. I frequently visit Wet for blow-outs as well as regular trims and highlights. I have not been disappointed. Owners Eric and Jimmy have created an oasis that is calming, accessible, and filled with professionalism mixed with cutting-edge technique and creativity. Many times, I have needed to be fit in at the last minute, and they have ALWAYS accommodated my request with smiles and the type of precise work that I typically don't find here in Austin. I wish I could have Eric and Jimmy teach every salon in this town how to manage their shop and moreover, client relations. I adore Wet...I am convinced this is the best salon in ATX. Mark was my stylist. Every time he cuts my hair, it is the best hair cut i have ever gotten. i tell him what i want, and he always delivers. He is also very nice and a pleasure to talk to. In fact, i think every one there is nice. it is a very friendly laid back atmosphere. They dont have techno music blaring, no fashion show network on a TV, no florecent lights. i feel very calm and relaxed and most importantly, i always get the best haircut. Its a little pricey, yes, but its worth it. my hair was long, i hadn't gotten it cut in like two years and i got it cut short. It was $60 before tip. Pricey, yes, but like i said, IT'S WORTH IT!! I mean face it, you're going to have to pay money for a good, stylish haircut, so you might as well come here. And i think depending on what kind of hair cut you get, he might give you a free trim. at least that's what he told me. more

I see Julia. She's great, very honest, lots of skill. I wanted to grow my hair and she told me that I just need to leave it alone for 6 months, except for split ends. Then she gave me a cut that would look good while it was growing out. 3 months later, it still looks good. Bang trims are complimentary and I had no trouble getting in to see her for that. She doesn't push products but is very knowledgeable about them if you want something. The building is nice, kept clean, very casual atmosphere. Sometimes the receptionist at the front desk hasn't been helpful about prices and finding an open slot. Instead of offering me a few choices of times/days, I have to ask if a date is available. That makes it take a while to find an opening. It took a good two months to get a call that a product I wanted was in stock again (I had already dropped by a month before, found it , and bought it). I'm not sure what happened there, maybe they lost my number? But those complaints are pretty minor compared to Julia's prices and quality. I have been going to Ryan for my hair for almost two years now--he is awesome. When I first came to him, I had long, blonde, high-maintance hair, and he was brilliant with it. Then I decided it was time to chop it off--and it's never been cuter! He truly takes the time to perfect his work and is so generous with his time and attention. Also,he has a great personality and is very sweet. My husband used to get his hair cut by Ryan, then decided to try someone else when he couldn't get a last minute appointment, but never again--he's going back to Ryan in a couple weeks--that's how great he is! Man or woman, long hair or short, go see Ryan to get your happiest hair EVER! Pros: Chill atmosphere, good music, great finished product--RYAN! more

I went in innocently to simply get a two-step process color done. My appointment was at 4:30 and they told me that RYAN was running 20 minutes late. So I went ahead and waited. When it was time for him to work on me, he added $30 dollars to what the receptionist had quoted, ran back and forth angrily to the front desk as he tried to get someone else to work on me, all the while i STILL was okay with him working on me. He told me he had years of experience, and I figured I just go ahead and spend more. He told me he got paid in commission and received half of it. that's $75 to work on me for about two hours. WHY IS HE COMPLAINING? after telling me he was going to ""have a talk"" with Katelyn, he asked me if he could still count on a TIP. So, let me simplify this...he makes me wait, adds $30 to the price, gives me attitude while I'm trying to be as understanding as possible, tells me he makes a bunch of cash in one sitting, AND still complained about a tip. I simply walked off in disbelief. The manager has yet to call me back after leaving my information. What an awesome experience. Pros: on south congress Cons: RYAN more

If you want the best color in town, you need Micky! She is a master colorist. I went to her at the suggestion of a friend after the sort of expensive person i was going to did not really understand color and I ended up with ""inky"" hair. Micky corrected this and you cannot even tell that i color my hair right after it's been done. Only after the grays grow in! She is also a great stylist! I love being able to see one person who is great at both color and cuts! and the price can't be beat. Pros: Price, location and great service more

A week ago i made an appointment, for today, and i was very nervous, though i had no reason to be. I hadn't cut my hair in a really really long time, and was developing split ends. Just over all hard to manage hair. My friend had recommended Ryan, so i went to him and he was really nice and listened and gave suggestions. He used this freaking awesome organic hair conditioner, which smelled so good. And my hair turned out great. I will be going back there for a free trim soon. Micky is the best! She is an expert at what she does. I have a hard time knowing what I want from my hair, other than it be easy. I do not like to cut out pictures and generally have no idea what color I would like. Micky can take someone with little input, like me, and make me gorgeous. Micky is the sh*t! I have very thick and super straight hair and had bad luck with hair stylists in the past. But since I started going to Micky, I get compliments about my hair everywhere I go. (I am not exaggerating about this.) Micky is very skilled and knowledgeable so not only your hair looks fantastic right after you get a cut, it will continue to look better as it grows. It is time for this to be said. Ruby has been cutting my hair for over 6 years now. I have seen her rock everything from a prom dress to military fatigues, all while treating my head as a personal piece of art. I have had long, short, bald, stinky, greasy, afro, slick, and nerdy hairdos since my days in Austin and Ruby as dealt with all of them. Scissors are her samurai sword and she cuts with the precision of a ninja assassin. She is a rad artist and independent filmmaker, so there is lots to chat about. Point is, if you like crappy cuts and colors, or you are into lame-o hairdressers at the mall, don't got to Ruby @ Wet. But...if you want your lid to be an electric cornucopia of truck stopping radness, do not delay. Jump in your cougar and take a trip to BadAssHairTown. Once you get there, grab a lonestar with the Mayor. Leah Harris cuts my hair at the salon. Every cut I've got from Leah has been excellent. She always takes her time, and very meticulous to detail. She has cut my hair for around a year now and i have never been disappointed. I enjoy the atpmosthere at the salon. Very cool and hip.Love the place.Leahs mens cut are top nouch.
