Great Food Cout 10/31/2005

The only thing that I really like about this place is the food court. They have a wide range of food, from McDonalds to Thai Food to Pizza. It’s fun to see the Monorail come by every 30mins or so. Also, the location is right in the middle of Downtown Seattle and the Metro tunnel is right under the complex, allowing for easy access from anywhere. more

Nice assortment of shops & restaurants 10/22/2005

Westlake Center is right in the middle of Downtown. During christmastime, there is a large merry-go-round outside that people love to ride. The mall itself is huge. Has many sit-down fancy restaurants, a movie theater, and many interesting stores and shops that you won't find elsewhere. If you're not in the mood for shopping, but you find yourself downtown, come here just to see (and eat from) the HUGE food court located on the 2nd floor. There are probably about 30 different food booths to choose from and the choices range from McDonalds and Hot-Dog-On-A-Stick, to Indian, Korean, Asian, Mongolian BBQ, Cajun, etc. Very interesting place and definitely overlooked by tourists. more

Shopping, Food, EVERYTHING right in the middle of Downtown 10/7/2005

My daughter and son-in-law took me to Westlake Center the first time I visited SEattle and WOW! What a place. It's right in the middle of downtown and has a huge fountain area across the street and a large pedestrian area in front of it. There's always people milling about and passing out flyers for this and pamphlets for that. The stores are great and rather up-scale, and the food court is HUGE. I've never seen anything like it. There must be literally 50 different food stands there that range from everything from hamburgers to hot-dog-on-a-stick to Indian to Cajun--they even have Mongolian BBQ! more

Best. Foodcourt. In. The. World. 9/9/2005

So I'm not such a big fan of the stores there. They're all chain stores, more upper-priced stores than not. Few stores that can't be found in any mega-mall in this country. HOWEVER---Westlake Center is the only mall in Downtown Seattle... ...and they have the LARGEST, BEST, most ALL ENCOMPASSING food court I've ever seen. And lemme tell ya, I've seen alot of food courts. Gosh, there must be 25+ different food offerings there that go way beyond Hotdog on a Stick and McDonalds. You've got Mongolian BBQ, Indian Food, 2 or 3 types of Seafood, Cajun Food, American Food, Italian Food, Chinese Food, Mexican Food, and there's this place that serves soup in a bowl made out of bread! How neat is that!??!? I guarantee you'll spend more time FIGURING OUT what you want to eat than you'll spend eating the food. Oh and I suppose that the stores are interesting and nifty. Multi-level. I think there's a movie theater there. Go walk around downtown, go to Westlake Center (There's always interesting characters out front to make you smile, grimace, or both!) and then eat til you burst inside. You'll never have a better time inside a mall! more
