Wellspring Adoption Agency

We have used Wellspring for the adoption of both of our children, and could not be happier. We had already identified our birth mothers and the Wellspring birh parent counselors were great! Both of the young women felt that they understood the process and that they couldn't have done it with out the services of Ruth and the Wellspring team supporting them. We, as the Adoptive parents felt that we were well informed and had a great experience. Our family will be complete in the coming weeks and we cannot thank you enough Wellspring. Complaint filed with MN Attorney Generals Office, MN Board of Social Work and MN Licensing Board\r I'm waiting to hear a second responce from Wellspring. They stated that they didn't approve my home study because I was only interested in one child in Maine that was too special needs - not because I failed to meet the state requirements. Their claim of the child in Maine being the only one I was interested in was false and I let the Attorney General know. What I also found out from Hennepin County, is Wellspring is not authorized to provide a special needs home study and they will not accept home studies from them. So the real reason I didn't get my study, is they couldn't legally provide me one. So they knowingly took my money for a study and then tried to put the blame on me for not being able to get the study through them.\r \r Well - I have my home study now with Family Focus and am licensed as a Foster Care Provider as well for up to 2 special needs children.\r \r Will continue to wait to hear back from the Attorney General. We knew the minute we attended the informational meeting one evening that Wellspring was the right adoption agency for us. They are very professional and polished. They know the business and can navigate you through any type of situation. We adopted both of our children from Wellspring, and throughout both situations, the communication was constant and very open. We felt very comfortable with our adoptive parent counselor, and was thrilled to have the chance to work with her again during our second adoption. Our first adoption was completely closed, but our second adoption we have the benefit of having an open relationship with our birth mother. We know the quality of our relationship with our birth mother is largely due to the work of the team at Wellspring. We really appreciated the adoptive parent support groups and the educational sessions/panels we attended. We met many other adoptive parents through the agency and they are some of our best friends today. We definitely felt the adoptive parent / birth parent panel discussions to be the most interesting and meaningful. Based on our experiences with Wellspring, we highly recommend anyone considering adoption to meet with them and discuss available adoption options. I am writing this review as a birthmother. The minute I walked into the adoption office I was welcomed with open arms. The birthmother counselor I worked with was there to answer all of my questions I never felt there was a question that wasnt going to get answered. It wasnt just my counselor that stepped in to help, everyone in the office was very friendly and assertive towards my needs. My counselor was there to get to know me as a person not just a pregnant teen. She wanted to know about my personal life as well so we could find the perfect family for my child! I would recommend this agency to anyone. They made me feel very comfortable and never made me feel ashamed of what was going on! Pros: support, easy to work with, answered all my questions more
