I have never stepped foot inside of the Warren Animal Hospital, nor met the veterinarian in charge, but I am crestfallen and extremely disappointed in my single experience with this institution. This past Saturday, I adopted a dog from the South Central animal shelter. As he hadn't been fixed yet, he was sent to Warren Animal Hospital to be neutered. Animal Services told me that my dog would be sent to the hospital the same day then have surgery on Tuesday, since Monday was the Labor Day holiday. I repeatedly called the hospital on Tuesday to find out whether he was ready to be picked up but their phone line was down. Finally, I got through to the receptionist who informed me that my dog would not be released until Thursday. Because of work, I asked them to board him for one night so I could pick him up first thing on Friday morning. She confirmed that would be fine. We spoke about this on Wednesday AND Thursday. So imagine my surprise when, on Thursday afternoon, I get a phone call from Animal Services to immediately pick up my dog from the South Central shelter. Warren Animal Hospital had sent the poor dog BACK TO THE POUND! I rang the hospital to find out why and they said there was a ""miscommunication"" but did not apologize for the mix-up. Although the receptionist was very nice and polite and courteous, I feel completely let down and disappointed by the outrageous action of sending my dog, in his post-surgical state, back to the animal shelter without my permission or even notifying me first. Needless to say, I will not be using Warren Animal Hospital's services in the future.
Pros: Courteous staff.
Cons: Lack of sympathy for animals, no consideration for communication.
