Great place to stay 11/2/2010

I stayed here for the 1st week after moving to Seattle from Hawaii. It was close to work, It was impeccably clean, the staff was nice giving me advice about the Seattle area. It has a fun bar downstairs. I would recommend it! more

Swanky and Sexy - a Trendy Hotel 7/7/2010

I've been here a few times, once for a work party, pretty snazzy, the drinks were quite yummy, the food was ok, and the servers were pretty cool. Another time I was here a couple I knew was saying there for a visit from out of town and we hung out in the suite for a bit, the room was really cool and the bed I sat on was comfy. This room had a good view. Overall, I've been here mainly for happy hour and that is always about the company, and of course, the drinks. Sometimes they have a really great DJ spinning. That makes it even better! Pros: Comfy beds, Sexy bar and Strong Drinks Cons: Expensive, food isn't to die for more

One of the best lounges in Seattle 11/24/2008

Lounge - nice, quite and has a fireplace to sit in front of wile sipping a drink ? which is really a sell point for me? I have never stayed in the hotel itself but judging from the lobby and the lounge which I frequently visit it must be grand. Pros: Quite music, good drinks, no one bothers you Cons: Not too many people fit there - if you come on Friday, Saturday night most likely you will not find a spot more

There are better places to stay for your money 9/4/2008

I'm a frequent visitor to Seattle and have stayed at the W numerous times. The last few visits have been so terrible I stay anywhere else, even though I'm a member of their points program. First off, the hotel is in dire need of updating. It's only fashionable and chic if you're living in 1995. The hotel really shouldn't advertise itself as being boutique or cutting edge - it's really just a place for people to party and trash the place. On a recent visit we had to call security because rooms on both sides of me had parties going on at 3am. Security gave them numerous warnings, but did nothing because they had rented a conference room all week. Really? When I tried to get some recommendations for dinner, the snooty concierge with the tight pants told me everything was booked and it would be nearly impossible to get a reservation downtown. I suppose browsing ebay is more important than making a few quick phone calls for a guest. If you're looking for a real hotel that cares about guest experience, try any of these: Hotel Max, Hotel Andra, Hotel 1000, the Fairmont Olympic or the Arctic Club. Just avoid the W in Seattle at all costs. Pros: Cheap rates through expedia, good music in the lounge Cons: Nickel & dimed on everything, poor customer service, party central more

Great business hotel, fabulous bar, fantastic service 3/27/2008

I stayed at the W for a business convention (zzzzzzzzzz). From the minute our cab dropped us off, it was show time. The entire staff are well trained and in the business of catering to people. I know this because I DO customer service for a living. I had a suit tailored at Nordstrom while there, my personal shopper dropped it off and the CONCIERGE actually took it to my room, unwrapped it, and hung it in the closet. No one had to "look" for it when I asked. They all knew where it was. I'm salivating just thinking about that! The ambience is amazing, my room was amazing, LOVE BLISS LABS being from NYC. This place is dialed in. The bar hops every night. It's efficient yet fun for business. Met some girls from Portland escaping their doldrum lives who were having an awesome time. And if I actually had a man in my life, it would be a great place for romance. more

Great Place for a Gen X,Y, or Z'er. Upscale, GREAT BAR, rooms chill with great vibe. 12/14/2007

Go to the W Hotel/Seattle for many reasons: Great Bar. Comfy rooms with million threadcount sheets (exageration), great pillows, excellent staff. Just feel comfortable here. Probably the greatest thing about this place is their pet friendliness. They are cool about the pooch and that goes a long way with me. Being cool about the pooch doesn't mean bring your lame dog here though. Don't ruin it for the rest of dog-loving America/Seattle. Will definitely recommend this to friends, relatives, and countryman visiting Seattle. Pros: Location, Bar/Lounge, Women/Men ratio, Room Comforts Cons: A little pricey, but its the W right? more

No In-room Coffee Maker? In SEATTLE?? 12/4/2007

My husband surprised me Saturday night by booking a room at the W after our holiday party downtown. We checked in at 10pm, so our experience was mainly the room for our short stay. The bed was comfortable, with feather-top mattress and pillows and we enjoyed the flat screen tv. The products in the room were great (Bliss brand - and face wash for sensitive skin, which I appreciated having, as it was a surprise stay and I had to wash off make up.) Decore was nice and room was spacious. Be warned that you will hear sirens all night, based on location, though that may be typical of anywhere in the city. The deal killer for us was waking up and not being able to locate the coffee maker. NO COFFEE MAKER?? IN SEATTLE?? We had to order down...WAIT (this was my husband's beef) and then paid $12 + $2 gratuity for our small carafe of starbucks. Mind you, I was tortured by seeing the Starbucks sign across the street as I was waiting in my bathrobe for room service to arrive. It was enough to make us not want to return. The front desk guy said it's a W Worldwide standard - focusing on the Whatever/Whenever service in room. Just thought you all should know if it's important to you. Pros: Style, location, hip bar downstairs Cons: No coffee in room, noisy more

Not for the tired or those on business 6/30/2007

I am so over the W thing. I know - the dark lights, mode furniture and pounding music was the "thing" in the 1990's, but I'm done. After walking a city like Seattle, i don't want to open a lobby door with the thump, thump of extremely loud music - so loud that I cannot hear the staff without leaning over a counter. Are the lights for ambiance or is something not clean? I can't tell and I want to know my room is spotless. I also want that huge, big, soft bed with crisp white bedding and a good reading light. I want to be able to see to put on makeup in the bathroom. NOT in this hotel. In a city like Seattle that has rain 11 months out of the year shouldn't your hotel room be a little cheery?? The one strange thing is that in all this darkness, the room have blinds, no curtains. So as soon as you try to go to sleep, on comes the city lights! Many must complain because they offered to "install" curtains while I was out. I could have done much better w/ a sewing machine and a shower rod! There is a black rod crammed into the window with very thin black material safety pinned over it!! Classy. Room service extremely expensive. No coffee makers in the rooms (in Seattle??) no wifi in room and internet is $15 a day. Food so bad in the restaurant (Earth and Water) that I had to complain to manager. Wait staff told me the steak and fries are served cold and limp! So many other great places in Seattle - don't stay here!!!!! Pros: none Cons: dark, loud, expensive more

Wonderful Wonderland 3/23/2007

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and it was a wonderful stay! Definetly a cool modern place. We only planned to stay 2 nights then stay at a beach house after, but after hearing about how the resturaunt turns into a club on friday and saturday, we had to saty a night then too! Customer service was awsome, they were happy to schedule us massages at turtle bay resort for us. Its right on waikiki beach but not in the middle of it, its towards the park side so its quiet. Love W hotel. We will stay everytime we come to visit. The breakfast is awsome too! And dinner is great too! If you can't afford the stay, atleast go to the resturaunt and stay for the quick change to a club feel later. more

great hotel 2/7/2007

This hotel is just awsome it has everything & much, much more. The service there is excellent. I stayed there 1/15-1/19/2007 Pros: great staff, great layout, great bar Cons: stressed out guests more

Wedding night bliss 10/29/2006

We stayed here on our wedding night this September and were really impressed. The hotel itself is beautiful and very elegant feeling. The staff was friendly and made a special effort to see that we were happy on our special night. We were a little shocked at the price but, the little extras and beautiful surroundings was worth that and more and I will look forward to many anniversary nights at this beatiful place! Jillian & Kyle Sims Pros: Beautiful, Convenient, Friendly more

Seattle's Worst Service - Inconsiderate/ Rude/ Indifferent 10/23/2006

The staff at the W was rude from my first day through the last. Everything at this hotel is outsourced. If there is any kind of problem the staff will do nothing about it. Their standard saying is, "That is not a part of the hotel - we can do nothing about it." The Internet support is $15/day per computer. Prepare to deal with a WIRED connection as there is NO WIRELESS connectivity in guest rooms. Only one computer can be connected at a time to the WIRED LAN. Parking (next to the hotel) is also outsourced. It is $10 for the first thiry minutes. This is direct billed to your room. The temperature controls were broken in the room. We were sweating for about 5 days straight. Although we complained to the front desk - again, nothing happened. The TV was supposidly digital. There was non-standard programming and a minimum number of channels. I was billed for phone calls I did not make and had to argue at the desk upon checkout for the bills to be cleared. Lastly, I forgot something in the hotel and when I called later they said they would get someone right up to the room to find it and send it to me. Nothing happened. No return call with the status. After three more phone calls I found out they did not do anything and it was too late. Then they told me "it is not important" and just before hanging up on me. Regardless of where you chose to stay in Seattle there has to be something better than this. I will NEVER stay there again. Anything is better. Pros: Comforter Cons: Service, Staff, Internet more

True Luxury in Seattle 8/19/2006

My husband and I went here for our anniversary and from the moment we checked in to the moment we left, the service and ambiance was amazing. I didn't want to get out of bed every morning, the bed was so comfortable! We ate in the restaurant and had drinks in the lounge and the experience was both relaxing and fun. We'll be making this an annual tradition. more

HORRIBLE SERVICE 4/11/2006

The second I walked in there was nobody to greet me and I had to get their attention. The front dest agents were just standing there giggling to theirselves, they were VERY unprofessional. I had to wait 10 minutes to even see a room becuase the bellman was busy. You have 26 floors YOU NEED MORE THAN ONE BELLMAN. I saw a room which I was very unimpressed with... where's the color? Where's the style? The corner king I saw was not worth the money. The bellman trash talked other hotels, that does not help when you are attempting to be professional. All in all I would stay there ONLY if they replaced the staff, got some color, and did some repairs.. all the furiture was trashed and beat up. Even the Front Desk which is most important. Pros: Loactaion, Lobby Cons: Staff, Color, Damaged furniture more

Swanky and ultra-modern comfort 1/25/2006

A hip, urban lobby playing music like Coldplay or Hooverphonic. A big fireplace with cozy, modern couches and chairs. These are elegant touches - and the rooms are equally stylish. Deep brown carpeting, a long hallway decorated with mirrors or big black-n-white city photos, nice Bliss bathroom products. A tad pricey but fun to splurge. The Earth and Ocean restaurant was lovely too, yes it is pricey (check prices online) but worth the price if you enjoy natural gourmet food. They were angels to serve us dinner on Sunday in the lounge, even though they were basically closed. Excellent service too. Only downside to the hotel was our room view, a parking lot. The blinds didn't close all the way so we got a little ambient light. But otherwise a great experience. Pros: Easy parking, Great decor, Friendly Cons: Slightly pricey more

Sexy starts with "W" 12/18/2005

There is no better hotel in the city to start a romance or fan the fire of an existing one. The staff gives you the same attention as a rock start or someone even more famous than Steve Poole. The bar is a great launch pad into the other city hot spots. I've been here for New Years, Valentines, random occassions. I've stayed at "W" Chicago, San Diego and Seattle. They NEVER disappoint! Pros: Service, Lounge Area Cons: a tad pricey, but who cares! more

Swanky party place 6/27/2005

We are having our wedding reception at W hotel Seattle, and can't wait. The service we have received is outstanding. They cater to any request - seriously! Their food options for buffet or sitdown dinner will knock your socks off! It was hard to pick just one option. Their guest rooms are the best in town, with the famous beds and bath products. Pros: Unique, Great food, Atmosphere more

Hip & Friendly 7/11/2004

The W service was excellent from the valet parking to the bellman to the front desk. We inquired and were granted a free room upgrade at check-in to the 26th floor with fabulous city & water views. My favorite part of the experience was the incredible bedding!!! The sheets were soft & luxurious, and the pillows & comforters were down. I loved the atmosphere from the dimly light hallways (anyone who thinks it's scary should bypass this ultra hip hotel) to the chic lobby. Highly recommend! Pros: bedding, service, atmosphere more

Mrs. 4/28/2003

The resturant was fabulous; the food was wonderful and the service was impecable. My reservation was incorrect at chek-in; the clerk presented in a condesending manner and made no effort at all to accomadate my requests. Fortunately, someone else in my party was provided a room with my specifications and I had the one they wanted so we rectafied the problem ourselves and had the clerk change it. Once again, the clerk was not friendly and acted as if this was a big bother for her. Pros: Great beds, martini bar, room service Cons: check-in/front desk, too dark/felt unsafe more

  • In Short
Established in 1939, this fast-food restaurant still makes its legendary fried chicken with the closely guarded blend of 11 herbs and spices originally created by founder Colonel Sanders. Modern additions to the menu include oven-roasted renditions of its chicken sandwiches, popcorn chicken, potato wedges and wraps. Classic sides include flaky, oversized biscuits, steaming-hot mashed potatoes and gravy, smoky-sweet baked beans and crisp, generously dressed coleslaw. Kids and adults love the "little bucket" parfaits of pudding desserts.
