Get the Cut you actually Want 7/21/2008

So I did the oh-so-cliched post-wedding hack, and cut off about 8 inches, from my shoulder into the Victoria Beckham bob. Problem was I trusted a friend who does hair to do it, and I ended up with these weird pieces that I always had to tuck behind my ears. Visible Changes did my bridal party's updos for my wedding, and we were all pleased, so I decided to try them for a cut. I got Sophia, and 3 cuts later, she still makes me look so chic and polished! Yeah, the prices are a bummer, but EVERYONE at work the next day can tell I went to a professional. I've even had people tell me, ""Whatever you paid, it was worth it"". So thanks for keeping me looking GOOD! Pros: Talented Stylists Cons: Mall Ambience (ick), A little costly more

Great Customer Service 1/21/2008

Selena is wonderful\r My mother and I go to here as well as my 5 year old child.\r She is patient with children and provides an exceptional hair cut\r My mother has not been happy with hair cuts until she went to Selena\r Selena does my hair also--in fact I just tell her to do whatever makes me look good\r Sometimes my hair is a classy straight while other times it is a crazy curl and I love it.\r Quinten is a male colorist who recently put highlights and lowlights in my hair. It looks great!! Pros: They are experts & helpful if you do not know what hair cut you want Cons: A little high priced but I walk away happy more

Great Colorists at Willowbrook!!!!! 7/15/2007

I have been going to Visible Changes at WillowBrook for 5 yrs now. I started out going there when I was in Barber School. I always go to Lila and she is a color specialist. She is great!!!! She has fixed my color more than one time for me because I always end up experimenting and screwing the color up.She has always been able to give me what I want. I used Yen a couple of times when Lila wasn't available and she is just as good, they both give really good coverage and listen to what you want. I would highly reccommend the Salon to anyone, the music is awesome!!!!!!!!! Pros: Friendly staff, very professional Cons: It is too frickin colddddddddd in there, like a freezer. Better wear a coat!!! Seriously! more

Jessica is great! 6/30/2007

I've been going to Jessica in the color department for about two years now, and she's been great! I highly recommend her! Pros: Great location more

Horrible! Never go to this one EVER 1/31/2007

My friend recommended me to go to the VC at Northwest Mall, and I've always had a great experience with fabalous results there. One day I decided to try the Willowbrook one since it was closer to where I lived. Huge mistake. I was getting blue highlights. I told her I just wanted a few a thin streaks here and there. The result = thick chunks ALL over the top of my head. The total opposite of what I wanted! Plus, my highlights appeared to be a dark purple/red color- but the stylist assured me it would turn the correct color in a few days. I thought that was odd, but took her word for it. I asked her how much this was all going to cost, and she said a $100 bucks. She said it would be an additional $10 to dry my hair. Jesus Christ, was this lady for real? I said forget it. I paid, left a good tip, and walk out of the there with my hair dripping all over the place. \r \r One week later ...\r \r My hair was nowhere close to being blue. It was still that dark purple/red color. I called VC Willowbrook and came in and told them my problem. They said they didn't want to fix it, because they didn't want to be responsible for the damage it will do to my hair. I told them I had wanted blue highlights for a LONG time and I was going to darn well get it. So they re-did it. My hair was indeed horribly damaged. But the stylist recommended me one of their products that she promised would help repair my hair. It didn't. It was sticky, smelled like hairspray, and dried my hair out. To this day, I'm still trying to recover. I will never go back. I spent $140 at that place, and they didn't even have the courtesy to dry my hair (both times). And you know know what? The very next week my friend went to VC at Northwest Mall to get thin red highlights here and there- and she walked out of there with exactly that AND dried hair. For $100 bucks! I've said enough. This review speaks for itself Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

Avoid whenever possible! 12/10/2006

Story as usual, a friend recommended the salon. Her hair looked ok so I thought I'd give it a try. Never again! After a chaotic sign-in and very long wait I finally get picked up by the stylist. She just waves me over, no intro, no name. As I am sitting down she asks what I want. I explain and ask for her feedback, she says she can do it that way. I realise I am not at a place where stylists voice opinions but just do as clients tell them so I sit back and let her cut it. I was given a magazine and about seven minutes later (I promise you, it took her not more than seven minutes) she says: Ok, we are done. I think she is kidding so I laugh and say that she is the quickest stylist on this planet. (Mind you, I have thick long hair with layers all around, near impossible to cut even half the head in seven minutes.) She gives no indication of wanting to look through the cut so I do it, finding that the layers on one side are longer than on the other. She gets irritated, huffs and puffs and reluctantly corrects it. She then says she will get someone to blowdry my hair. At this point I just want to get the hell out. I tell her that I'm going to the gym and not to bother. I grab my rubber band, put my wet hair in a pony tail and leave, pay at check-out, leave a good tip and call my friend right away. What can I say, she could have had a bad day, maybe she had a lazy day - bottom line: you only need one bad experience to stay away. In hindsight I laugh .....What was I thinking??? Does anyone ever get a good cut at a mall???....lesson learnt. more

Not Happy!! 1/31/2006

I don't think I have ever met anyone that was happy with their hair after visiting any of the locations. They do hi lights too chunky and if they don't do that it does not blend together or look natural. more

This Place Rawks 1/3/2003

I love Visible Changes. They are the only place I can find in Houston that does really great chunky high and lowlights and doesn't charge a fortune. Their color starts at $65 and is worth every penny. Although you can probably get cheaper color or cuts (at your grandmamas beautician maybe), you won't find a better job for the price. The best thing is, you get a great haircut, color, etc. no matter if you opt for the lower level styliest/colorist or the pro. I suggest any of the Houston area Visible Changes, especially Willowbrook, Galleria, West Oaks or Memorial City. The stylists/colorists really listen to what YOU want, not what THEY think you might need. Pros: Professionalism, Quality, Variety Cons: Wait sometimes more

Great Haircut 11/1/2002

On my visit to Visible Changes I got a haircut and shampoo for 30 dollars, I cant speak for the other stylests there but Christina did a GREAT job on my hair... At first, I thought that she cut my hair a bit too short, but after 2 weeks, my hair looked even better, it was a great suprise to see what it grew into... If you get a chance have Christina cut your hair, she does a wonderful job.... more
