My family has been taking our cars and trucks to VA Tire and Auto for over 15 years. This last time I was very disappointed with the service I received. I paid for a diagnostic CEL and the mechanic said he wasn't sure what was wrong with the car. There was low oil so he did an oil change and said it fixed the issue but it didn't really fix it. When I spoke to him on the phone I asked him what the total cost was and he told me 53.00 but when I paid at the counter it was 89.97 due to the oil change that I did not ask for as I change my own oil. So, basically, I paid 90 bucks for a glorified oil change and the issue wasn't even fixed. I was told on the phone that he could run another diagnostic or pull a spark plug, which I can do myself, to see if there was another issue when I already paid for a diagnostic. The other option was to run the car in the bay and he'd keep an eye on it. Sorry, but I'm not paying your labor charges to have my car run your service bay, I can do that my in my driveway... When I disputed the charge at the counter there was nothing the guy could do for me. I'm very upset at the lack of customer service I received. I've been a loyal customer for well over a decade and I will not be taking my cars to any VA Tire and Auto location again. There's simply too many other garages around to settle for this level of service.
