Location Location Location 6/5/2011

Village Deli is perfect example of Location Location Location. We all have been to a restaurant at beach or when you visit some new town there is a restaurant that is in the heart of the action. Looks inviting then you go inside and try the food, consequently are astounded how such a pathetic tasting food is served at gas gouging prices. Village Deli is it for Wake Forest. This place is Bad. REAL BAD? Wilted lettuce in salad. Hello! What appeared to be slimy old smelly cold cuts skimpy served on a huge roll. Tasteless. If I want bread I would go to a bakery. My attempt to get fresh salad was throated with rude/nasty person at register raising her voice at me. Wow? how about if I buy you a ?side? of anger management classes Village Deli ? Furthermore, this place is not a Deli not even with the furthest stretch of the imagination? I guess the thief that owns this place must know ?Deli? in the name must sell. I have been told that there were other Village Deli's that went under, because of bad food and astronomical prices (winning combination). I am sure this one in Wake Forest is not far behind. Avoid this place at all cost ? Do not waste your monies on bad old food that might you sick? more

Pathetic is the only word that describes Village Deli 10/14/2010

Pathetic is the only word that accurately describes ?Village Deli? I work for Drug Company in Raleigh/ Wake Forest area. It is a part of my workday for me to eat lunch daily with other Reps. or customers and will cater to offices weekly or bi-weekly as my budget allows... I stopped going to this place over year ago because if my offices complain about the poor quality of the sandwich deli provided. I am paying top dollar for sandwiches and my clients do not want it for FREE? Not once has deli correctly made my order right the 8 times I used them and they are arrogant when you ask them what the problem was? Unfortunately. you pay before they deliver so there is no recourse. The hard rolls were stale croissants had mold on them YUCK? chicken salad smelled spoiled and I was embarrassed to use them. more

CAN NOT SEEM TO GET IT RIGHT! 8/31/2010

I live and Work in Wake Forest our staff goes out to lunch couple times a week. We had stopped going to the Village Deli over year ago because of the mediocre to poor tasting food that was outrageously priced. Last Friday we stopped in for a bite to give it another try? Some things never change? We had our usual 20-25 min wait for 2 sandwiches and order Chicken tenders. We specifically asked for turkey sandwich on plain wheat bread with dressings and whatever accompaniments on side (too much to ask for outrageously price sandwich?) Needless to say Deli can not even get that right. Chicken fingers were soggy and barley warm as if they were made few hours before. Amazingly rude counter personnel seem clueless or it just act that way to get you to go away? Price for sandwich, drink and side is $14? So, if you crave, sub-par food, slow service and rude & clueless personnel all at an EXCEDINGLY OBSORBANT PRICE. Village Deli is for you? Not for us, never again? more

SERVED SMELLY OLD MEAT MADE US SICK 3/8/2010

My office mate and I bought 2 sandwiches for lunch last week, one Turkey, lettuce, tomato on white and the other just Ham on a roll. Turkey sandwich was rancid. It actually stunk from spoilage. I opened turkey sandwich there was GREEN and DARK blotches on the sliced turkey meat. My office mate inspected her sandwich and the ham was slimy and foul smelling. I discretely returned the sandwich to the counter, the counter person could not be bothered was rude when I explained the sandwich meat was spoiled. Counter person argued that was the way the turkey and ham meat always looks and smells that way. Pros: OVERPRICED Cons: POOR QUALITY FOOD ARROGANT EMPLOYEES more

Will never go back AGAIN 11/13/2009

My family and I after Hockey at the Factory decided to get pickup at the Village Deli. They have always been good in the past but very expensive. No problem as long as it is correct and good. After picking up the order thank god we checked, they left one of the kids meal s off. After returning home Dads chez steak was not done correctly. Salad dressings are the fake blu chez and ranch. Anyway, not ever going back and spreading the word to all of WF to do the same. Pros: Used to be good Cons: Can't get a simple call in order correct!! more

OVERPRICED REHEATED FOOD 10/1/2009

Been there once the poor quality and the barking nature of the staff faded from memory and I made the mistake of going there again recently with my children. Nothing changed.... I walked in with my 5 and 7 year children We all heard a lady screaming ""F"" word repeatedly when employee saw us coming this employee yelled ""PAT PAT"" not sure if this was a code word for employees to be quiet or a name but, place is not child friendly. This is a service counter ordering like Moe's restaurant there is no deli type feel. The cafeteria style dining room is bright and open but there is no privacy if you want to have any sort of conversation. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and side of slaw and drink. My kids had 2 orders of chicken fingers. My chicken sandwich tasted old and was barley warm the edges were hard as if it was reheated or microwave a few times before and was tasteless. My kids ate the chicken fingers but they were very greasy and they were very tiny order even for my 5 year old doughter. My daughter spilled a dip sauce for the chicken I had to pay .50 extra I assume the $7.95 I paid for the 2 greasy tenders was not enough to get another 1/2-ounce sauce. $35 for lunch is robbery for reheated greasy junk food. There are so many better friendly restaurants on South Main Street now at less then half this price, I do not understand how this place stays around... I guess I do, since I paid the bill!! Never Again.!!! Pros: SLOW SERVICE SO CAN REFILL YOU COKE Cons: THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF more
